I love Cole Logan.  I feel like if I was in jr. high I would be writing our names together complete with hearts and swirls along with practicing writing Mrs. Cole Logan in every margin of every page.  In truly a rare occurrence in a book, I never once found a reason to be mad at the male character throughout the entire book.  He redeemed himself 100 times over from the ending of Shattered where he broke both Savannah’s heart and mine as well.

Savannah is beginning her new life away from the safe house and the arms of Cole.  Cole and Savannah have put distance between themselves, but that doesn’t mean that they still don’t care about each other.  Both of them have never had a serious relationship before, so I think their inability to communicate their wants and needs and placing another person before one’s self has put them in this situation.  Cole isn’t used to having something to think about other than his next mission or the men that work under him.  Savannah has never been able to be her own person, and throw in her kidnapping and the emotional stress that she has encountered, it is a miracle she is able to function on her own.  This is huge progress for Savannah and a step in the right direction.  I agree that she needed this time to herself. The time away hasn’t been easy for Savannah and you will feel the conflict she has waging a battle inside. I thoroughly enjoyed this series.   Cole realized the mistake he made and he is going to win back Savannah.

“I want a future with you, Savannah, but not until you’re ready.  I’m going to back off…” he raises a brow, “to a degree, and let you come to me when you decide you’re ready for us.”

How could you fight those intentions, but most of all who would want to fight Cole back?  And if you thought that was how he is going to win, wait until he says this…

“I’m scared.” His whisper nearly breaks me.  “I’ve fallen for you, Savannah.  Please catch me.”

Is there even a bone in your body that didn’t turn to mush with those words?  I think my heart took over my entire chest swelling with love for this man.

This story is not all about Cole and Savannah finding their way back to each other.  Danger still exists beyond the fortress of the safe house, there are some criminals that still need to be captured, and Savannah needs to face the person who betrayed her.  And Cole needs to get back to the work he lives and breathes, which leaves Savannah questioning if the horrific events he once endured will happen to him every time he leaves on a mission. They just need to have faith that it will all work out.

“I swear under a thousand stars that I love you, and will fight to the end to make you happy.”

Oh my Lord…my heart just burst.  I can’t hold back my love for this man any more.  He made me so happy with his outpouring of love for Savannah.  Plus, he also is a sexy beast in the bedroom. Everything adds up to Cole Logan being the perfect book boyfriend.  This last book was short, but it was filled with everything I like and it earned a 4.5 star rating.  This was a great series and there are wide openings for more characters to get their story told.
