Release Blitz: Just And Illusion by D. Kelly

One night changed her life…
Bestselling author Amelia Greyson has grown up in the music industry and isn’t the slightest bit fazed by fame or celebrities.  However, when she attends a Bastards and Dangerous concert with her best friend Belle, her world shifts on its axis.
Double trouble…
Sawyer and Noah Weston are the front men of BAD.  They’re fraternal twins and sexy as sin.  When they hear the author of The O Factor is in their green room, they’re intrigued.  She’s just the person they need to write their farewell story.  The brothers offer Amelia the opportunity of a lifetime, which she reluctantly accepts.
Three hearts…
Noah is sweet and considerate, working hard to make Amelia feel at home on the road.  Unfortunately, the closer they get, the more obnoxious Sawyer becomes.  Sawyer is arrogant and distant and he wants Amelia, even though she’s not his for the taking.  Only during stolen moments does Sawyer show her who he really is. Can Amelia maintain a safe distance from Sawyer and keep her heart intact?  Or will she shatter Noah’s heart by giving hers to his brother instead?
Just an Illusion – Side A is the first book in The Illusion Series.

Review by Jen Skewes

I loved this book.  Honestly going in I was so unsure about what to expect.  It was a new rock star book from D. Kelly and that was really all I needed to know.  But I never expected the ride that this book took me on.  D. Kelly more than exceeded my expectations with this story.

Amelia (Mel) Grayson has just recently published her first book which is also a best seller.  When she accompanies her best friend Belle to a BAD (Bastards and Dangerous) concert, it ends up being a night that will change her life.  She is not a fan of the band at all but she is there for moral support for her BFF who is supposed to be interviewing the band.  What happens next is something that Mel never expected.  She has been chosen to write a tell-all book about the band, which means spending the next year on a tour bus with them.  There is no way that she can pass this offer up.  So she finds herself sharing a bus with the two brothers in the band, Sawyer and Noah.  They are fraternal twins, who are both sexy in their own way, but yet so different.  The one thing they do have in common right now is that they both have a thing for Mel

Sawyer is the bad boy brother who is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.  Something happened in his past that has caused him to be closed off to most people, not being able to trust anyone.   He is hot and just exudes sex but he seems to have this big chip on his shoulder.   Noah is the really sweet one who has a huge heart always looking to help out others.  At one time he may have been that rocker who let the fame control him, living the rock star dream and all that came with it.  But when a woman came between these two brothers, almost destroying the band and their family they both changed their ways and they swore to never let another woman come between them.  But now that Amelia Grayson has entered their life will that change?

This is the story of a girl and two brothers, both of them having a thing for this girl. Mel swore that she would never date another musician ever again.  But that was before she met the Weston brothers.  Sawyer is hot and sexy, the boy who can say inappropriate things but still somehow make her blush, but he is so closed off to the world.  He has a connection though with Mel, he trusts her and finds himself opening up to her.  Noah is the sweet rock star who makes her feel special.  She feels comfortable with him and they have this ease to their friendship.  There is no denying that she has a connection with the both of them, even if what she has with each of them is very different.  But which one will be the one to win her heart?

This books starts off with a prologue that will leave you with so many questions.  One in particular is who it is about.  All through the book I wondered what happened to get her to this point.  Who is she with now, and is everything that happened in the books different from how it all ends.  And yes I know that right now none of that seems to make sense but when you read this book you will understand.  The prologue gives us a glimpse of the present but at this point you have no idea who Amelia is with.  And because of that I was honestly reading this book and just wondering the whole time how this would all end.  Would it be different from how I saw it ending?  Would she somehow choose the other brother?

Now here is the thing, I don’t want to say that this one is a triangle because I feel that she made her choice early on.  While she is with one brother, the other brother is in the shadows, the two of them growing closer and while he may not admit it I think he loves her.  For most of this book I kept wondering if things would change, never knowing which way this story would go.  And I think the one question that kept running through my mind was would Amelia come between Sawyer and Noah?  But then the author just threw more issues into the mix and there were twists and turns that I never saw coming.  And then there is the end!!  I am not sure I even want to discuss this but will say that I was not expecting that at all and I felt myself wanting to curse D. Kelly.  Thinking Holy Crap! did she just do this to me?

While I will not say any more I will say this.  D. Kelly completely outdid herself with this one.  I love so much about this book, one of them being Mel, Sawyer and Noah.  If I had to choose between them, trust me it would be so difficult but I whiten ui would go with Sawyer.  I jut love the sexy bad boy who is a little bit broken and guarded.  But then Noah is just so sweet and sexy and completely swoon worthy.  But it was more than just these three characters.  I love the supporting cast, from the band members to Mel's best friend Belle to their families.  They are all a group of characters that you will fall in love with and want to be a part of their inner circle.

Amelia has a secret past that she is trying so hard to keep to herself, for fear of it destroying everything.  Sawyer’s past still continues to haunt him, which is his reason for being guarded and has a hard time trusting people.  Noah also has a past that somehow works it’s way back into his present.  All of these things together create one crazy ride of emotions, surprises, twists and turns and an ending that will leave you with your mouth wide open.  Enjoy the ride!!  It will be one that you will want to take!!
