Release Blitz: Hothead by Stella Rhys

Title: Hothead

An Irresistible Series Standalone
Author: Stella Rhys
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 3, 2018

Blurb

He's the hottest
player in Major League Baseball, the most notorious playboy in all of
Manhattan...

And my fake fiancé
for the next three months.

I was drunk-dialing my ex the night I met him.

Six-three, sexy as sin and so incredibly rude I could smack the asshole
smirk right off his face. Long story short, we got off to a bad start. But when
the tabloids interpret our sparring as Drew Maddox "groveling"
with a "mystery brunette," his agent presents us both a
proposal:

Shacking up as a couple this summer.

It’s an alleged “win-win.” I need to prove to my ex that I'm fine. Drew
needs to prove to his team that he's stable. Thanks to his on-field brawling
and never-ending lady drama, Drew Maddox has suddenly found himself on the
trade block - which means he needs a fast, easy way to show the team that he's
settled down.

Hence this fiancĂ© thing.

Our fights are real, our kisses are fake, and thanks to the nonstop
heat between us, I’m starting to mix up all my signs. But whether it’s real or
fake, there’s one thing I do know:

I’m already addicted.

Review by Lisa Kane

I loved this story! Evie Larsen has just been given the gentle, but firm boot from her long term boyfriend, Mike. After getting an apartment together, he told her he needed time to himself to figure things out. This leaves her homeless and alone. But she’s not giving up on him.

“We could get back together, Evie. I mean that’s the plan. We’re soul mates. But I need some time apart first.” Right. So…Were we over? Were we not?

Drew Maddox plays for the New York Empires. He’s one of the best in baseball, but he has a reputation for getting into trouble-and trouble likes following him around. His agent told him that the team is thinking of trading him.

Ten years in the league and I’d never heard the trade word once.
Never worried about any team so much as thinking it.

A couple of years ago he had a very public brawl with his best friend. His former team and the fans turned on him, but he’s content with the team he is playing for now. He doesn’t want to lose that. Maybe his agent it right and he needs to clean up his act.

“Keep up the act till the trade deadline passes. That’s a little less than three months.”

When Evie and Drew meet at a party, in the most unconventional way, sparks fly. When Drew follows up that meeting with a proposition that will solve Evie’s housing dilemma and Drew’s image problems, the two reach an agreement. Of course, the plan to be strictly business isn’t going to last!

Drew has a couple of real asshat moments-he’s been hurt before and trust doesn’t come easily.

“Just because that’s a real diamond doesn’t mean this is a real engagement.”

This story has drama, and some heartbreak and a few characters that I could easily throat punch (the ex Mike-total douche!) I loved seeing that idiot take a fall!

“What’s up Mike, do me a favor-unless it’s to apologize for all the shit you pulled on her, don’t call my girlfriend again.”

My fingers flew thru my kindle and I couldn’t read this one fast enough!!

I still didn’t have all the answers but in Evie, I had my definition of love and trust.

Author Bio

Stella Rhys is an author of contemporary romance and can't
help but write it hot, steamy and borderline filthy (just kidding, it's just
flat-out filthy). Writing aside, she lives for coffee, the Knicks, the Yankees
and cooking recipes way out of her league. She was born and raised in New York
and now lives there with her husband and charmingly entitled fur babies.
