Release Blitz: Wicked Knight by Sawyer Bennett

Wicked Knight (Wicked Horse Vegas, Book #5)
Sawyer Bennett

Release Date: January 1, 2019

Synopsis:

He never wanted to be anyone’s hero…

Asher Knight is tall, dark, and wickedly handsome. He’s also irrevocably broken. Submerging himself in long hours at work by day and debauchery at The Wicked Horse by night, Asher uses work and play to numb the pain and guilt he feels over the death of his wife. What isn’t satisfied with one will surely be resolved by the other. At least that’s how he’s survived the last few years.

Hannah Madigan works three jobs just to make ends meet. Beat down by life, not to mention a cheating husband who was unfairly awarded custody of their daughter, Hannah is determined to make a better life for herself and get her kid back. But with pressures mounting and one costly mistake that leaves her owing Asher a huge debt, Hannah is as close as she’s ever come to throwing in the towel.

She’s given a golden opportunity…

Determined to stay the course by any means necessary, Hannah accepts an unusual proposal from Asher. He’ll give her a job. She’ll give him her body. Sounds easy, right? Until she realizes she needs his help more than she’s willing to admit. And he finds her adding to his life in ways he never wanted to accept.

This wicked knight may just learn that sometimes saving someone else means allowing yourself to be saved in return.

Review by Trinette Dungee
Asher Knight has always been a workaholic, and after the death of his wife he becomes even more so. He spends his day running a billion-dollar corporation and his nights losing himself in the sex, sin and debauchery of The Wicked Horse. Each night is a different woman and that’s how he chooses to keep it. One night at The Wicked Horse with Hannah and the way he used to spend his nights are no longer interesting him.
Hannah Madigan is not impressed by rich powerful men. She fell for one once before and now he has custody of her daughter and uses her as a pawn to torture Hannah. Asher Knight may be handsome and hot as sin but she’s not interested until he offers her the deal of a lifetime which could allow her to quite her three jobs and give her the opportunity to get her daughter back.
From the minute Hannah knocked over Asher’s vase I liked her. She was bold, in your face and could cuss like a sailor…. LOVED IT! She was unapologetic for doing whatever she had to do to get her daughter back. I’m a sucker for a single parent storyline and this one was no different.  I have to admit though, I was not a fan of Asher, something about him rubbed me the wrong way. He was your typical alpha-male but something about him just did not click with me. His relationship with his sister made me warm to him a bit more but it never quite got to the point where I was in awe of him.  What did click with me was the relationship between these two. I liked how they responded to each other and how they fell into a relationship without realizing they were in a relationship. Although they changed throughout the story, neither of them changed who they were at the core; even Asher, the person at the end of the story was always there he just never let him surface. For as straight laced as he was, Asher was actually fun, with a sense of humor.
In the beginning of the Wicked Horse series, the backdrop was always the actual Wicked Horse locations. As the stories went on more and more stories were linked to The Wicked Horse but didn’t really take place. Something about this book took me back to one of the original stories. Once again Sawyer Bennett has given us characters and a storyline that makes you not want to put the book down and leave you with your heart sighing and singing.

Although Asher wasn’t one of my favorite Wicked Horse male characters. He and Hannah are fighting for the number one spot as my favorite couples.
