Synopsis:
Is this Reel Love or Real Love?
Hollywood
The moment I laid eyes on Finn Parker’s headshot, I knew that if this guy could act, I wanted him for the hero role in the film being made from my book, Fleeing an August Moon.
The tall, blond, and ruggedly handsome actor looked exactly like the picture I’d seen in my head the entire time I was writing the book.
The studio, however, had different thoughts on a leading man.
Box Office crusher, Maverick Dailey, made it clear that he wanted the role. The producers, studio, and everyone involved were thrilled to score such a celebrity. Well, everyone except me.
And it’s my vote that counts since, according to my contract I get final say on casting. Maverick is amazing, yet I’m just not sure…
It certainly didn’t help that Finn Parker and I seemed destined to cross paths. We ran into each other all over Hollywood. And the more time we spent together, the more the sparks between us flew. We had an intense chemistry, something I’d only ever read about in books like mine.
Which made me wonder, was I really falling for Finn or just living out a fantasy with a red-blooded, live version of my hot hero character?
It’s easy to confuse fiction for reality in Hollywood. Everything is not as it seems in this town.
Not to mention, Finn’s life would forever change if he landed the role. Which made me question how good of an actor he really was? Was he interested in me, or the role I had the power to give him?
Is this Real Love or just Reel Love?
Review by Lisa Kane
Francesca Simonelli has written "the book". The one that every woman is swooning over. The hero, Griffin Chase is the book boyfriend on everyone's lips. And now it's about to become a movie, one of the most anticipated book to movie adaptations. But who can live up to the author's expectations of playing Griffin?
I can't believe he even exists. Well, in real life, anyway.
Finn Parker just needs one movie, one incredible push to move him up to the A-list for Hollywood. He's got an audition to read for Fleeing an August Moon and he needs to land this role.
This is the role that changes everything to leading-man status from What-have-I-seen-you-in? oblivion.
At first he's not overly impressed with the story line to say the least.
Holy shit, this book is a piece of crap.
Don't worry, that will all change.
Finally the day comes for his chance, but word has it that Hollywood heartthrob Maverick Dailey want this role.
From the moment Frankie sees a picture of Finn Parker, she knows this is the face of Griff Chase, regardless of the studio's desire for Maverick Dailey. But will the acting match the face?
Finn totally nails the audition, but then some personal things come into play. Is it Finn that Frankie is attracted to or is it his likeness to Griff. Is it Frankie that Finn is into to or is it her say in who plays Griffin Chase.
Just like a great Hollywood romance Reel Love has dreamy moments and angsty heartache and big over the top gestures. There will be tears and laughter and sometimes both.
My girl. My insides still turn into those of a fourteen-year-old every time he says that. We are the love story in this. He was right. The girl who was living in her head and the guy hidden behind a myriad of identities.
