Synopsis

I’d made promises I had no right to keep.
I’d crossed lines I shouldn’t have.And I didn’t care one bit.
Coming back to my hometown to teach wasn’t meant to be like this. Falling head over heels for the forbidden girl shouldn’t have been on the cards.
But fate had other ideas.
Aria was the one shining star in an otherwise dark night. She called to me like nothing else ever had, and I was hopeless to stop it.
Until we got caught. The game was over; our secret destroyed. And there was only one thing I could do about it.
Lies came easy when I was shielding the people I loved most. Destroying myself in the process didn’t matter as long as she was safe.
But now the lines had been redrawn. Boundaries marked permanently. I’d always protect Aria—even if it was from herself.
Defying fate was simple, but I was never one to take the easy way out.
One look. One touch. One kiss. That was all it would take to walk the rocky path of obeying fate.

**Obey Fate is book two in the Fated Duet. The epic conclusion to the two-part, heart-felt, emotional, gripping journey of forbidden love.

Review by Jen Skewes

If you read Defy Fate, which you must do before reading Obey Fate, then you know how much Abigail Davies left us hanging, in a big way!  Obey Fate picks up exactly where we let off, with Cade and Aria in the classroom, as they were caught kissing, by the last person that should know about them.  Aria tries her best to think quick and takes the blame for what just happened.  She tell Ms. Simmons that she tried kissing Cade and it was all her fault.  Unfortunately for Cade it does not end there.  Willow will do whatever it takes to keep Cade away from Aria, because she wants him for herself.

Cade is trying his best to stay away from Aria, being that he really has no choice at this point.  But he loves her and will do anything to protect her.  Aria knows that risk and what will happen to Cade if they are caught together.  She knows that she needs to stay away from him, but at this time in her life she needs him the most. We know from book one the issues that Aria has, but they go so much deeper than that.  She is slowly falling apart and Cade is the one person that she trusts and feels safe with.  But leaning on him can ruin everything for them.  She felt alone and it's not until she unexpectedly breaks down, that Cade knows that there is no other choice here.  He needs to be there for Aria, he needs to take care of her and love her.  But how much will it cost him to be there for her?

I loved this series.  Ms. Davies explored some topics that were dealt with in themes perfect way.  It wasn't too over the top, but just enough to break your heart.  Aria is the kind of heroine that you just fall in love with from the very beginning.  All that she went through in her past and know dealing with so much more, had me hurting for her.  Ad Cade I loved, even if he made choices that I did not like, even though I knew he really had no choice in the matter.  But his love for Aria was so real and evident in his actions.  You could feel the intense love and passion that these two had for each other.

Obey Fate is so much more than an age gap taboo romance.  It deals with deeper issues that will have you glued to the pages.  The writing is flawless, the characters are lovable, and everything about this book felt real.  It was raw and intense at times, filled with angst and brings out so many emotions.  It was the perfect ending to Cade and Aria's story.  I cannot wait for the next one!!!!

About the Author

Abigail Davies grew up with a passion for words, storytelling, maths, and anything pink. Dreaming up characters--quite literally--and talking to them out loud is a daily occurrence for her. She finds it fascinating how a whole world can be built with words alone, and how everyone reads and interprets a story differently. Now following her dreams of writing, Abigail has found the passion that she always knew was there. When she's not writing: she's a mother to two daughters who she encourages to use their imagination as she believes that it's a magical thing, or getting lost in a good book. If she's doing neither of those things, you can be sure she's surfing the web buying new makeup, clothes, or binge watching another show as she becomes one with her sofa.
