About Love the One You Hate (OUT NOW!)
Nicholas Hunt is the man I hate.
For good reason.
His opinion of me is tainted by prejudice even before my arrival at his grandmother’s estate, and my first impression of him is just as abysmal.
His arrogance and icy demeanor make it clear that he’s the type of man who’s best handled at a distance.
Fortunately, space shouldn’t be an issue inside this Gilded Age mansion and its lush gardens. If I stick with the servants and he keeps to his sailboat and vintage Porsche, we should hardly cross paths at all. Unfortunately, at Rosethorn, I find that all roads eventually lead to Nicholas Hunt.
Sparks fly as we spar at the dinner table. Fighting words are flung in the shadows of the palatial halls.
We hang suspended in our hatred of one another, painfully oblivious to the heat and tension that build with every moment we’re left alone. We’re liable to kill one another, I think…right up until my eyes land on his lips and a new feeling grips hold of me: lust.
What’s worse?
He knows it.
They say you should keep your enemies close, but when Nicholas tightens his grip on my waist and draws me near, I’m not sure if it’s out of loathing or love.
One thing’s for sure—I intend to find out.

Review by Jen Skewes
When life deals you a crap hand time after time it's easy to think that's all you deserve. Life has dealt Maren Mitchell a crap hand and she's come to expect life is hard and will only get harder. She's wary of people (with good reason) and she thinks it's only a matter of time until something goes wrong and she's back to square one.
She's 23, lives in a group home for at risk adults and works in a dead end job. But she loves the gentle souls she cares for, even if her coworkers make her life hell. A chance meeting with Cornelia Cornwell is about to change her life.
Cornelia sees something in her, way deep below the layers that Maren wraps around herself. She invites her to be her companion at her estate. Is this a dream that Maren is going to awaken from?
But this dream has a bit of a villain-Cornelia's grandson Nicholas Hunt.
Nicholas takes an immediate dislike to Maren-and she to him. But all that hatred might just be covering up for some unwelcomed chemistry. Forced to be in each other's orbit, things are slowly changing. Do they really hate each other? I love the dual POV. I love when a story gives us insight into the male's thoughts and feelings. Nicholas feelings and descriptions of his thoughts about Maren surprised me. He is very complex and his character has a lot more richness to him than I gave him credit for-I liked being wrong.
I almost think the romance is a subplot in this book. The main story being about Maren and her personal growth. That metamorphosis is mostly due to Cornelia Cornwell. What a wonderful asset she is to the plot. She is wise and has the respect and backing of society and yet she never takes advantage of her social position or allows it to control her. She is such a guiding force for Maren. It's as if all the bad things that Maren has endured happened to put her in a certain position and time in her life so she could be open to all the good that Cornelia offers. Two women, one poor, one rich, one young, one old, one lacking self esteem, one comfortable in her place in the world-you couldn't find two more different women and yet they bring something unique and irreplaceable to one another.
Don't expect to read one of RS Grey's usual stories. This one is more heavy and serious than most of her others. I wasn't expecting that, and yet I came to really enjoy this unexpected treat.
