Don’t Kiss the Bride by Carian Cole is now live!
I guess you could say I was a damsel in distress, and he was my knight in shining armor.
But more accurately, I was a girl with a lot of bad luck, and he was a guy with a lot of muscles and tattoos.
Jude “Lucky” Lucketti wasn’t just a sexy, brooding construction worker. He was my own personal hero who seemed to be in all the right places at the right times. Like when my car broke down and I needed a ride home, and when I face planted on the sidewalk right in front of him and had to be taken to the emergency room.
Those weren’t exactly my best moments, but they were his.
We became friends, and it didn’t matter that he was sixteen years older than me. We had a lot in common—like our love of old rock music and vintage fast cars, and our aversion to relationships.
When he approached me with a crazy idea to help me out, I couldn’t say no.
The arrangement was supposed to be temporary. A marriage on paper and nothing else.
It should’ve been easy, but it wasn’t.
Because here I am, eighteen years-old, still in high school, and married to a man I was never supposed to fall in love with.
We had just one rule—no kissing the bride.
But we broke that rule, and it sealed our fate forever.

Review by Jen Skewes
I could not wait to read Don’t Kiss the Bride. Carian Cole knows how to now only write an age-gap romance, but one that include a sexy, tattooed, bad boy hero with a huge heart and a strong heroine. And this book had both. I could not put this book down from the moment I started reading it. I devoured this book in one weekend and when I was done I wanted more, I wanted to go back and read it all over again.
Skylar is an 18-year-old senior who does not have the best homelife at all. She is basically on her own despite the fact that her mother lives with her. She has a plan once she graduates high school, which includes getting out of town. When her car breaks down at school she has no idea what she is going to do, or how she will pay for it to get fixed. Her knight in shining armor, in the form of a sexy, long haired, tatted guy comes to her rescue.
Jude (Lucky) is working on the house across the street when he notices Skylar. He first notices her for her crazy outfits which for some reason he loves. But when he sees she needs help he knows he can’t just leave her be. But that is not the last time he sees her. Fate keeps bring them back together, and Jude keeps coming to her rescue. When he sees her living conditions he comes up with a plan to help her out. An arranged marriage will give her what she needs until she can get on her feet and out of town. The biggest issue is the 16-year age difference between them and the fact that Jude is falling for her, no matter how hard he tries not to.
There was an instant chemistry when Jude and Skylar first met. The banter between the two of them was as if they knew each other for years. The physical attraction was undeniable, but it was the emotions that they felt when with each other that surprised them both, and what could ultimately break them. They both claimed they weren’t not the commitment marrying type. But what they did not realize is how much they both needed each other, in so many ways. They both have their demons and their past to get through. But when together they feel this comfort and ease like they never felt before. But there are people who will try to break them, who don’t agree that these two belong together. There are obstacles they have to face but they are both so string and together, I think they can get through anything that comes their way. It just may be a very long and bumpy road to get there.
Don’t Kiss the Bride was a slow burn between two people who needed each other. Jude may have been covered in tattoos and had long hair, but he had a huge heart and is completely swoon worthy. Skylar is one of the strongest heroines I’ve met. I admired her strength and determination. Yes there is a 16-year age difference but nothing about it felt wrong at all. It is a beautiful love story between two people who need each other, and who have had a rough go of things recently. But together they are just perfect. This book was emotional and heart breaking at times. A book that pulls at your heart strings, and once the end comes you can let out the breath you didn’t realize you were holding. I loved everything about this book. When it was over I had a major book hanger. I wanted to go back and read more until I realized I had finished. Absolutely beautiful.
