Synopsis
She watched her best friend find her superhero.
Now she wants her turn.
Despite a run of bad dates with Mr. Wrong, Mr. Boring, Mr. Bad Breath, Mr. Grabby Hands, and even Mr. Say I Love You After One Date To Get Into Your Pants, Kate McGuinness is more determined than ever to find the one.
Having tried everything else, she turns to the internet in a last ditch attempt to find her elusive prince.
But Kate doesn't want an everyday, run of the mill love.
She wants the kind of love that makes your heart skip a beat. The kind of love that makes you dance in the rain and bottle up the sunset. The once in a lifetime kind of love that authors write about, musicians sing about, and lovers dream about.
Could a certain police officer in training, who has come to her rescue in the past, be the one to swoop in and save her heart?
What if the love Kate desperately seeks has been in front of her the whole time?
She just needs to open her eyes to see it...
*Disclaimer: This book contains a hot as hell stripper with a penchant for public sex and exhibitionism who may or may not succeed in bringing out the inner firecracker in all of us. Oh, and don't forget the batteries.
4.5 stars by Faith Dotson
“I don’t just want a good love, one of
those everyday loves that you hear about. I want the kind of crazy love we’ve
been warned about. The kind of love that authors write about, musicians sing
about, and lovers dream about.”
Kate, the dreamer,
just wants to finally fall in love like her best friend Mac has finally found.
With every relationship ending up in the dumpster, she decides to take her
chances on a dating website. But while looking for her prince, she has found
frogs, trolls, and cheaters till it took her best friend pushing one of her ex
hook ups her way.
Let’s not forget
Zander from Temporary Bliss…one of Mac’s “hook ups.” The hot, sexy stripper
that had most of us drooling over him. There is a lot more to Zander than just
his schmexy moves and his love for sex in public places. He is also finishing
up training at the academy to become a police officer….yes, I know…a stripper
in a police uniform…Y UM! But, all Zander really wants now is to find a nice
girl that his family will love but will also be a spit fire in the sack.
“What I really need is a good girl with a
naughty side; a girl who I can take home to mom and who I can introduce to my
baby sisters, but who is also a firecracker behind closed doors. A girl who has
the perfect mix of sugar and spice. That would be my perfect girl.”
When Mac decided
to push these two into a unique living arrangement, they must forget their past
history and face the attraction that inevitable. As usual, this kind of
situation has MASSIVE amounts of sexual tension. Zander finally makes the final
move in bringing them together.
“You deserve a perfect first date, and I
want it to be with me, so I’m going to give it to you because now I’m saying
yes. To you. To this. To us. You with me?”
I really enjoyed
the relationship between Kate and Zander, as well as, having Mac and Daniel
along this journey. With this book, the build up between them, is so worth the
wait. Kate has a three date rule, but don’t worry there are some pretty steamy
scenes to hold you over.
“You’re worth taking it slow with. I can’t
think of anything better than waiting out your three date rule. Hell, you could
make me wait ten dates and it would be worth it just to have a chance at taking
it slow with you.”
Most of us love the broken characters in the
story, but it is refreshing to have two people who want to find love and not
have a lot hanging over their relationship. But…there is a secret that is kept
and it threatens to break up this wonderful pair.
And let me tell
you…Zander is the master of woo…that man had me melting!!!
“Beautiful is not enough of a word to
describe you. You’re electric, you’re alive and vibrant, and when you look up
at me like that, you make me feel invincible. I’ve been staring at you all
night, wondering how on earth I got so lucky to have met you, to spend time
with you, to get to know you.”
I strongly suggest
reading Temporary Bliss before True Bliss…It can be read as a stand
alone, but why miss out on that fantastic read. OH! BJ Harvey also gives a bonus;
well make those two bonuses, at the end of True Bliss. Mac and Daniel are
giving two scenes and they are freaking awesome!
True Bliss is a great follow up. Fun, sexy, and
swoon-worthy, with just enough of the “uh-oh” moments to keep you pulling for
them.
Can’t wait till
Noah gets his story!!!!
