4 Fantastic Sweet Stars
Review by Jen Hagen
This was a fun, quick, sweet read with very little angst – sometimes we all need a break from the bad-boy angst-filled books and need a little refreshing sweet story.  Walker is all kinds of sweet…sigh.

Erin is a 27-year-old math teacher who has been in a relationship with Robert for about 5 years.  Their love for each other helped them through a miscarriage and it is only fitting that the next step in their relationship would be an engagement.  Erin is heading over to Robert’s apartment to surprise him when he returns home from work with a home-cooked dinner .  She opens the door and sees candles alight and her heart and mind automatically think of a proposal.  But wait…what’s that sound… Erin can’t stop herself from finding where it leads her to.

Robert, my Robert, is screwing his secretary on the bed we picked out together at Sears.  Their two bodies become one on the sheets we decided on because of the thread count.

Robert found a way to unleash his boredom and try new positions with somebody else because Erin is just not “adventurous” enough for him between the sheets.   Oh Erin will definitely now show everybody that she can have an adventure of her own.  Cue the best friend taking Erin out on the town dancing at a club and shoving drinks down her throat.   Erin allows herself to let loose on the dance floor and she finds herself dancing with a sexy man and her unadventurous life will definitely turn a corner after this night ends.

“My name is Walker.  Would you like to come back to my hotel room and see what kind of adventures I can take you on?”

The next morning Erin avoids the walk of shame being witnessed by Walker as she sneaks out of his hotel room and back to her mundane life.  She is quite surprised weeks later when she realizes that her adventurous night will always have a permanent reminder.  She told Walker a fake name and she doesn’t even know his last name.  There is no way to get a hold of him.  Never say never…there’s always a chance you’ll see him again if the stars are aligned.

Of course it works out that they eventually see each other again in the most unlikely of places.  Once Walker is brought up to date on what has been happening in Erin’s life, he is happy as a lark. Walker is not the type of man who will walk away from his responsibilities.  He is adamant that he will become a part of Erin’s life.
“Please don’t shut me out.  Let me in.”

Not very much time passes and Erin realizes that she is falling hard for Walker, as he is for her.  Erin worries that it’s not okay to feel this way after knowing him for such a short time.  Erin is a little hesitant to announce their relationship and this begins to make Walker question how strong Erin really feels about him and if she is embarrassed by him.  Why else would she hide their relationship status from everybody?    Being Walker is only 23, Erin worries that he is not ready for this life of commitment.   He has no problem telling her how he feels and wants to be able to tell the world about them being together.

When I’m with you I feel amazing.  You make my heart beat.  You make my world turn and my lungs with air.  I live and die by you.”

I was a little curious about the cover, but there is a meaning to it and once you read it you realize how truly fitting it is to the story.  Walker is so sweet and loving, and Erin is a gal who has a strong head on her shoulders with a good friend beside her.  The friend will have her story next in the second installment.

This is the author’s first novel and what a way to get out of the gate!  This story has humor, love, mild angst, forgiveness, and steamy scenes.   It was a perfect book to pull me out of my bad-boy phase and into a world of sunshine and lollipops.  Granted there are a few moments where you may hold your breath, but the majority is a feel-good romance.

“A year ago I wouldn’t have thought this is where I would be but I’ve learned to embrace the unexpected because it can bring some of the greatest things into your life.  I love you Erin.”
