Review: Kill Devil Hills by Sarah Darlington

He’s twenty-four. She’s eighteen.

His life is exactly the way he’s always wanted it to be...stable.
She’s quite possibly the very definition of unstable.

Noah saved her.
Georgina never wanted to be saved.

Growing up, Noah Clark was passed from one relative to the next until he finally ended up living with his abusive, alcoholic uncle in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Thanks in part to the unwavering love and support of his best friend, Ellie Turner, Noah survived those years, escaped his uncle, and grew into the man he is today. Now he runs his own business and lives a pretty normal, no-nonsense life—one where he maintains a high level of control.

Georgina is Ellie’s younger sister. Four months ago, Noah saved Georgie’s life, but he thought that was where his involvement with his friend’s sister would end. Now Georgie has returned home from the recovery facility her parents sent her away to and Noah, still haunted by the night that connects them, can’t stop himself from continuously trying to protect this girl he barely knows. But is he willing to give up all of the control he’s worked so hard to build in his life and risk everything for her? Even more importantly, would she do the same for him?
4 Beautiful Loving Stars!

He’s twenty-four. She’s eighteen.
She’s his BFF sister, he’s always been around
She never wanted to be saved, but he saved her anyways.
In the end..they saved each other..
"Noah Clark is your typical sister’s best friend." Wait a second, did you say sister? Cause if this guy comes with all older sisters sign me up…
Noah, the guy was all man.  His golden, sun-bleached hair was just long enough to tie back haphazardly into a ponytail at the nape of his neck, little pieces always falling loose.  He had brown eyes and a strong jawline rivaling someone like Brad Pitt.  Sometimes he shaved, but not today.  His shoulders were wide enough to filla door and I had a fleeting image-one scarred on my cortex-of the way his muscular chest looked shirtless.  The guy was a cross between a California surfer a mountain man and Thor..
Seriously save me!!!!
They start off sneaking time being together; sneaking nights, talking, learning about each other and growing closer than either of them knew was possible in spite of their two broken parts.
Part of me was slightly pissed off that this kiss with him hadn’t happened sooner.  As in years sooner.  Because this one little kiss-it literally rocked my world.  He was morphine, and I was an instant addict.
Far too soon, Noah broke away.  He pressed one last quick, tender kiss to my lips and then rested his forehead against mine for a moment.  His breathing was heavy. “What the f*ck are you doing to me, pretty girl?”
It was such a beautiful story about surviving a earth shattering loss that leaves half of one empty and finding out that surviving doesn't mean forgetting. It means remembering and realizing that you matter and finding someone that makes you complete yet again.  You have a purpose and a meaning and that alone gives you a reason to live.
I love her.  I’m going to marry her one day.  I’m going to take care of her and provide for her and have babies with her.  And in the fall when she decides to  go to college-because I kind of have the feeling like that’s what she’ll do-then I’m going to follow her wherever she goes.
