Blog Tour: Left Behind by Vi Keeland and Dylan Scott

Two stories so deeply intertwined, you’ll think you know how they intersect…but you’ll be wrong….

Zack Martin
The day I met Emily Bennett my whole world changed. Sure, we were just kids, but I was old enough to know my life would never be the same. She was my best friend. My destiny. My fate. I wasn’t wrong…I just didn’t know how twisted fate could be.

Nikki Fallon
After the death of my mother, moving from my dark and dreary trailer park to sunny California, I was focused on one thing – finding a sister I’d only just learned existed. Falling in love with him wasn’t part of the plan. But he filled a void I never knew was possible to fill. He had to be my fate. My destiny. Until the day I finally found out who my sister was…and how twisted fate could be.

4.5 Fated Stars by Nicole Lorenzo

Life was never easy for Nikki Fallon. Living with a mother who was bipolar, moving more times than she can count, going in and out of foster care are just part of the struggles she has faced. But the day her mother dies, Nikki’s life changes forever. Upon her mother’s death Nikki uncovers a secret her mother has been hiding from her for her whole life. She has a twin sister. She also has an aunt she never knew existed. Determined to find her sister Nikki

moves from her trailer in Texas to live with her Aunt Claire in California. She knows her aunt knows what happened to her sister and Nikki is desperate to find answers. Keeping her agenda hidden from her aunt Nikki searches the house looking for clues. She is determined to stay on task, but when she meets Zack Martin she finds something else she didn’t know she was looking for.
“Around Zack, I feel…at home. Like I belong. Something I never thought I’d feel again.”
Zack Martin gave his heart to a girl when they were just kids riding together on a yellow Schwinn bicycle. Growing up together and falling in love was what seemed was meant to be until one night changed everything. Drowning in guilt and sadness Zack can’t seem to pick up the pieces of his life until he sees Nikki running by him one day. Nikki seems to understand him in a way no one else can and suddenly his days don’t seem too bleak and for the first time in six months Zack manages to smile.
“When you’re not around. I’m lonely in a room full of people.”
Zack has some reservations at first about starting a relationship with Nikki, but when he’s with her is the only time he feels true happiness and he soon makes the decision to trust his heart. Zack’s wavering hurts Nikki and she’s afraid she can’t trust him. Her fragile heart can’t take any more heartbreak no matter how strong she appears to be. Zack makes it his mission to make sure Nikki is never hurt by him again. Together Zack and Nikki slowly fall
in love and heal one another along the way.

“Maybe, just maybe, fate brought us together for a reason. To fix each other, not obliterate our already wounded hearts.”
But fate intervenes in a way neither Zack nor Nikki could ever have expected. In the wake of uncovering the cruel truth can Zack and Nikki’s young love survive after what they discover?
“I don’t understand why this was our path, but I know fate brought us together.”
I can’t say too much here without giving the plot away. I will say that I pretty much had the jist of how the story was going to unfold fairly early, but that didn’t take away anything for me while reading! Left Behind is a YA story about fate. It’s also a story about young love, and grief and guilt and I loved every moment I spent with Nikki and Zack. It was a tender hearted journey that pulls at your heart strings. Nikki was a strong girl who had dealt with so much in her young life. Dealing with her mother’s mental illness and then her death you would expect her to be broken, but that wasn’t the case at all and her strength is part of what draws Zack to her. I loved Zack. He was sweet with a raw honesty that you don’t see in many guys in books these days. His little notes just added to my love for him.  I felt every emotion as I went along with their story. I enjoyed the relationship between Nikki and her Aunt Claire as well. Knowing that she had someone else on her side even though she wasn’t aware of it. Ashley and Keller were both great best friends, and I wouldn’t mind reading more about them in the future!  Overall I really enjoyed this collaboration by Vi Keeland and Dylan Scott.
“Love needs no words. You had me before you even spoke.”

About the Authors:
vi keeland bio.png
Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn't change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work.  She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!

Dylan Scott
Dylan Scott is a New York trial attorney, wife and mother of four.  She believes her job as a trial attorney is a subcategory to the field of entertainment more than law.   With a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature she believed teaching English was a destined career choice until she realized her life long talent of "argument" could actually be her job.   A recent, fairly boring, midlife crisis resulted in a brief stint as a middle school English teacher which confirmed that she wasn't ready to give up the law.   Dylan has also taught legal courses at the college level and worked with at-risk inner city youth in the roles of mentor and coach.  She is co-author Vi Keeland's biggest fan.
