About WICKED WHITE

Aspiring singer Iris Easton’s life has never been easy. First, her mother walked out on her when she was a kid. Now she’s buried in debt, weeks after losing her beloved grandmother. When a mysterious and sexy new guy moves in next door, Iris can’t help but be drawn to his soulful gaze. She can tell there’s something from his past haunting him—something he’s not telling her.
Just as Ace starts falling for Iris, the media go on a worldwide hunt to find the missing rocker. Will true love conquer all, or will the truth be the very thing that tears the couple apart?
5 Star Review by Allison East
I love Michelle Valentine- she never ever disappoints. And another rock star book from her, I knew I was in for a treat!
Ace White wanted the rock star life, but he also wanted to write his own music, and that didn't happen. None of it really happened how he wanted it. With a crazy overbearing road manager, Jane Ann, by his side he realizes the rock star life isn't everything he hoped for. And when he gets news that the only person he considers a mom may be dying- he makes a choice. He wants to go home and spend time with the one woman who has made him feel loved. His assistant has other plans, so he runs away. He basically disappears and leaves his band, his fans and his contract hanging. He has
to find somewhere that he can just hide and be himself, and not the painted up version. He ends up in Ohio in a somewhat rundown trailer park- and runs into Iris.
"I hate these people just as much as they hate me, and I can't be around them for one more second. I don't care what I'm losing. It's nothing compared to my sanity and the self-worth ill lose by sticking around and continuing to be used"
Iris Easton, the heroine, left home to live out her dream in New York- she wants to be a Broadway star. Her grandmother dies, and she goes back to Ohio to try to save her gran's trailer park. A mysterious and hot, stranger comes to stay in the trailer park and he is determined to be mean to Iris from the get go. But Iris won't take no for an answer and decides to be that much nicer, she doesn't
understand what she's done to make him hate her. Although he doesn't really hate her- he just knows he needs to stay away because of his rock star past- and the fact that he is being hunted on a large scale. Iris is bound to find out.
"That was Gran's favorite picture of me when I was little. She said that was my sweet phase." His lips twist. "I don't know if I agree with that. I think you're still pretty damn sweet."
Iris knows Ace has a past, but she is so out of touch with social media, she has no idea who he really is, and honestly she doesn't care. She just wants him to open up to her, and for Ace- that's easier said than done. I really enjoyed Iris and her attitude on life. Like, if it kicks you down get back up, and I just know she was meant to meet Ace; to teach him the same kind of "can do" attitude and not just give up.
"Today just watching that guy beg you to go out with him- it made me so f*ing jealous. I wanted to tell him to take a f*ing hike because you weren't available, but I didn't have the right."
"He's not the one I want," I say, hoping he will catch the hint in my voice.
An expression of relief floods his face as his eyes soften. "Good, because I've decided I have to figure out a way to make you mine."
Things in their relationship come to a head, when ultimately Ace is found and has to face reality. But will Iris be there with him to help ease his pain of being in a band with people he hates, surround by people who don't care about him?
They are definitely kindred spirits, that's for sure- and I love how Michelle wrote them. It was like they were meant to be! Like a version of Romeo and Juliet- but way less tragic and a lot more loving and sexy. I was graciously granted an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review, and I
honestly believe you are doing an injustice to yourself by not reading this great story!
