Blog Tour Review: Tap by Georgia Cates

Release Day: JANUARY 11, 2016

SYNOPSIS:

A faceless name. That’s all she was when I agreed to play a part in deceiving her. But then the unplanned happened.
We met. And all I wanted from her was a dirty weekend . . . until that wasn’t enough and I longed for so much more.
Lawrence Thorn suddenly means the world to me. And that’s a problem. She’s my business partner’s sister. Forbidden fruit. Pursuing her can mean trouble for me at Lovibond Brewery. But I don’t care.

I yearn for her skin against mine.
I crave her smell on my body.
I want to make her laugh and then hear her moan my name.
And she does for a brief moment in time.

But Lawrence wants more than I’m able to give. And it’s a damn shame because there’s no one on earth I want more than her.

An epic love.
A miserable ending.
Unless it’s not.

Review by Lisa Kane

Lucas Broussard is in business with his two colleagues Ollie "Stout" Thorn and Porter Beckman. He handles the financials and they come up with new concoctions that will give them the edge they have on the market. The brewing business is new to him. He inherited a printing company from his father. His wife, Bridgette helped run it along with his best friend Warren. But things got complicated when his wife and his best friend fell in love. Lucas agreed to the divorce and was even the best man at their wedding.

I was married to Bridgette for six years. We weren't in love. Never were.

Obviously, there was more to this marriage than meets the eye. Lucas has secrets and real scars that define his goals. Business is his life, he has no desire for marriage and a family.

I have a four-step routine when it comes to dating.

One: I fuck a woman
Two: She clings. Every. Time. Because that's what they do.
Three: I call it quits.
Four: End of story.

When Stout admits that he has let his break up with his girlfriend drive him to hit the bottle once too many times, he also admits to Lucas that he just got a DUI and he is entering rehab. Considering that Lovibond Brewery heads up a responsible drinking campaign, Lucas agrees rehab is the best place for Stout right now. He needs to get his act together.

The only problem is Lawrence "Lawry" Crown,  Stout's sister. He and his sister are close-as in talk or text pretty much every day. He doesn't want to worry her about his problem and he asks to pretend to be him and answer her texts. Easy peasy right? Wrong.

"I need you to be me while I'm gone."

When she shows up at a beer festival they are hosting, Lawry meets Lucas for the first time. He is still carrying on the charade of texting as her brother. But clearly there is something brewing (pun intended) between them.

Dos Equis got it all wrong. This is the world's most interesting man.

Eventually things are getting hot between them and the fact that they live 400 miles from each other is too much of a hindrance. Clearly they are falling in love with each other and one of them is going to have to move, either Wren as Lucas calls Lawry, or Brou, her pet name for Lucas Broussard.

My dick's impressive but it doesn't reach Georgia.

Since Brou heads up a multi million dollar company, it makes sense for Wren to move. She may not be a millionaire, but her shop which stocks natural remedies, healing stones, and homeopathic remedies-(Wren is a bit of a hippie) allows her to  make a lucrative living for herself.  She isn't about to give up what she has worked so hard to build without some assurances. Wren knows she wants to marry and have children one day. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but someday soon. What about Brou-does he want the same things?

Enter heartbreak. What I liked most about Wren's character is her ability to stay true to herself and what she wants for her life. No giving up her dreams in order to keep a man; she knows what she deserves and even if her heart breaks she won't settle for second best.

The saddest discovery you can ever make is realizing you've fallen truly, madly, and deeply in love with a dream that will never be.

Brou is a complicated man who has valid reasons for his feelings. But does he feel the same way he did a few years ago? Is he willing to lose the woman he loves because he is scared to start over and risk his heart again? Can he overcome his guilt from the past in order to make a new future for himself?

Tap is the first in a new series. If this one is any indication, Stout and Porter's stories will be more than a little interesting. I have my Solo cups ready!

Sometimes the heart doesn't know what it wants until it finds what it needs.

EXCERPT:
Lawrence Thorn

My eyes follow Brou as he leaves the bench and walks away. Sheez. His ass looks great in those jeans. And it looks pretty great not in those jeans too.
I can’t believe I had my hand wrapped around his cock.
I can’t believe he came in my hand.
I can’t believe he stood in front of me naked from the waist down.
I can’t believe he touched me with his fingers between my legs and then sucked them. Fuck. That was hot.

No one has ever made me come so hard in all my life. Brou gives quality orgasms. I can’t wait to have another.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Georgia resides in rural Mississippi with her wonderful husband, Jeff, and their two beautiful daughters. She spent fourteen years as a labor and delivery nurse before she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an author and hasn’t looked back yet.

When she’s not writing, she’s thinking about writing. When she’s being domestic, she’s listening to her iPod and visualizing scenes for her current work in progress. Every story coming from her always has a song to inspire it.
