If you've been reading The Endgame series, you've literally seen these characters grow from high school seniors to adults. Their friendships have been tested (usually by Emberlee!) but they are solid as a rock and loyal to the end.
Changing Fate continues Caden and Avery's story that started in Fighting Fate. What a cliffy ending that was! Caden had his whole life changed with a blow from a baseball bat and he lost precious memories. But the most important loss-those of the years that he spent loving Avery. How much pain can a person take before they have to distance themselves from the one that is causing that pain?
I never thought I'd say this...but I could go forever-and a day-without speaking to them. Without seeing them. Without coming home.
Avery does what she has to-she needs to learn how to live without Caden. If he could forget her so easily then she must never have meant that much to him. Memories stay hidden for just so long and when they come rushing back in, Caden realizes the magnitude of his loss. It may not be his fault but he is to blame for Avery leaving.
She's alone, believing her love isn't worth a thought-because of a fucking bat, my brain made her trust that.
Changing Fate is the story of a man determined to get back what he lost. Will Avery move past this and forgive or will she keep walking the path that moves her life in a different direction?
I have to admit, the last few chapters of this story were my favorite. When you invest hours into a series and come to know characters so intimately, reading about their children and their futures gives you such closure. Of course, the possibility of a spin off series about the next generation is a bonus!
