Release Blitz: Wildcat by Max Monroe

Blurb:
Wildcat: a football formation in which the ball is snapped, not to the quarterback, but to another player lined up in the quarterback position.

Wild, Cat: a beautiful woman from the sky, who hooked me against the rails, and has me on the ropes. Sweet like honey, with a hint of sass burning behind her pretty brown eyes, she took over my heart without warning.

I’m Quinn Bailey, quarterback for the New York Mavericks.
Sports analysts predicted I’d break records and take my team all the way.

But no one predicted this.

And just like the other team, I never saw it coming.

Disclaimer:
Things this book is:

  • Can be read as a complete standalone.
Things it isn’t:
  • Paranormal: The only thing magical is inside Quinn Bailey’s pants.
  • Boring: Pssh, please. Max Monroe doesn’t do boring.
  • Short: Prior to reading, prepare yourself for one huge, long, thick…book.

Review by Lisa Kane

"It only takes one minute of bravery. One minute of insane, embarrassingly crazy courage to change your life. Sometimes, it only takes that one minute for something great to happen."
Quinn Bailey is the quarterback for the New York Mavericks. He’s crazy talented, rich, gorgeous and…I guess he doesn’t really have any drawbacks. Oh, and he loves sex. But once training starts, he pretty much stays celibate. He’s got a few days off and he’s going flying back to see his parents and his brother Denver. His brother, Denver, is still in college and has a promising football career too. But his father puts way too much pressure on him. They also ignore the fact that he’s gay. But Quinn is close to Denver and if he has to put up with his aloof parents for him, then he will.
It’s just Quinn’s luck that he sits next to a demanding, over the top douche. He’s barely seated before the guy makes demands of the flight attendant. He wants a drink made with blah blah blah and it’s all Quinn can do to roll his eyes. But once he gets a good luck at the poor girl trying to serve Mr. Douche he is instantly smitten. (Yep, I used the word Smitten)
Her skin was like a glass of hot chocolate, the mocha swirling smoothly over the surface. The only imperfection was a tiny smattering of dots-brown freckles sprinkled like cinnamon across her nose-and the deep brown of her eyes worked to look warm despite the dickhead they were pointed at.
Je-sus, she's pretty.
I'll say it again...smitten.
Quinn manages to get a few words in with Cat. Real name Catherine Wild. She's funny and smart and has class. But a flight only lasts for so long and they end up landing early due to bad weather. Fate puts them on the same train headed to the same destination. Quinn isn't about to let this opportunity get by him and he makes sure he gets Cat's phone number.
Cat isn't big on sports, knows nothing about football and has no idea who Quinn is, so when she sees a bunch of fans surrounding him for autographs, she feels a big foolish.
Each flash of a camera and excited murmur was not fogged over or hazy in a dreamlike way. No. It was most definitely happening.
But what I couldn't understand was why.
Was Quinn Bailey someone important? Or more than that, someone famous?
And if that was the case, how in the heck had I not known that?
Don't you love the way her mind thinks of the word Heck? She's so cute!
Quinn saw Cat's face when she realized he was someone people recognized. She looked confused, and then a little hurt. He's not going to let his kitten (cute nickname!) get away.
Mouse. Meet cat.
Wildcat is funny and sexy and at times...a little bit sad. Good girl meets famous boy and a lot of people aren't fans of the two being together. There are obstacles like conflicting schedules and commitments and haters. Can this quarterback win the prize of his life and capture his kitten's heart?
"I don't follow my destiny. I choose it."
