He's aware that she has a terminal diagnosis, but she's rapidly going through some bucket list and taking some crazy chances. She's not alone in her travels-it seems a woman named Nora, who lives in the same apartment complex is the Thelma to her Louise (pun intended).
When he visits his gran he meets an attractive woman in a bar. After lots of witty banter, they agree to a night of no strings sex. But Beck doesn't deliver the goods as he thinks his companion's judgment is impaired due to a few too many cocktails.
You know that this mystery woman is going to be the same one that is Louise's companion, right? Things are going to get very complicated very quickly. Something Unexpected is funny and has some incredible dialogue. But I don't think it's a reach to suggest you have a few tissues ready. There are some serious issues in this story, not all of life's problems can be tied up in neat little bows and solved.
I'm a big fan of this one. Beck has a brother who is the complete opposite of him and I'm hoping we get his story next.
