Review: Conquer Your Love by J.C. Reed

Synopsis

Meeting Jett was like bad luck. Dangerous. Unpredictable. And better avoided. In his game, the stakes are high. But are they worth the risk?

Brooke Stewart, a realtor in New York, finds forgetting is hard, but forgiving is harder. When the man she trusted, betrayed her, the only way to forget is to move on. Brooke is determined to start a new life, until she meets him again: the green-eyed, sexy as sin, six foot two sex god. The man who played dirty. The man who played her.

Sexy, rich, and arrogant Jett Mayfield knows he has made mistakes. He could have any other woman, and yet it’s Brooke he wants. When second chances collide with secrets and Brooke is threatened by the past, Jett is determined to protect her. She accepts his help unwillingly because she needs him but she wants to play his game on her own terms. And she has no intention to forgive or let him back into her bed.

When the man she is supposed to hate is the one she should trust, will he conquer her…or lose her forever?

A woman who can’t forgive.
A man who has made mistakes.
Two lives that are about to cross again and more secrets laid bare.

4.5 star review by Guest Reviewer Nicole Lorenzo

Brooke Stewart knew Jett Mayfield was trouble the first time she laid eyes on the green-eyed sex god. But she gave him her heart anyway only to have it betrayed and broken in return. Back in Italy with her best friend by her side, Brooke is determined to get over her former lover and boss. She’s not even back in Italy one night before Jett finds her and is determined to set things straight between them. Knowing she can’t trust him, Brooke is intent on keeping her distance from Jett, but the spark between them is too strong and she finds herself immersed in him again. Will Jett break her heart once again even though he is claiming he wants her and needs to protect her?

“He could break down my walls too easily. Shatter my resolution and make me want to give in to my foolish heart.

Jett Mayfield is determined to get Brooke back by any means necessary. He knew lying to her would backfire, but he was truly trying to protect her. He can’t imagine spending one more second without her and when he finds her in Italy he chases after her. With Brooke back in his sights again Jett tries his damnedest to convince her to trust him again and realize that his feelings are genuine.

“If you fell, I’d hold you. If you were afraid, I’d wrap my arms around you and take away your fears. I’d die to keep you safe but more than anything I’d do whatever it takes to keep you by my side. For you I’d conquer anything, everything, anytime.”

Learning to trust and love is not the only obstacle Brooke and Jett have to face. The threat that Jett was worried about comes to play and Brooke is now in real danger. They try to solve a mystery while trying to also stay alive as they come up against car chases, robbery and armed gunman. Everything is on the line for Brooke and Jett, and they need each other now more than ever.

“Love is fragile. Love can easily be broken. Love is not always perfect. And sometimes love makes mistakes. When everything’s broken, everything seems lost. The only way to get your love back and repair it…is to conquer it.”

Conquer Your Love is the second book in the Surrender Your Love series by J.C. Reed. When the first book ended we were left with a cliffhanger and I could not wait to get my hands on book number two!  Boy was the wait worth it!!  Conquer Your Love is the perfect mix of Love, Mystery, Action and a whole lot of steamy love scenes!! Jett is just pure sex on a stick and I swooned over him all over again!! Brooke learns a lot about Jett in this book, which makes it easier for her to learn to trust him again. Although there is no cliffhanger this time around there are still a lot of unanswered questions that I am sure will be answered in book three. Treasure Your Love will be out in September! I cannot wait!!
