I'm back in New York, ready to start my brand new life with Logan. Things are still up in the air between us, and it has been three months since I've even talked to him. But there's one thing I'm certain of -- I can't live without him.
Logan
I need her like I need air. But now she's back, and her dad and her ex-boyfriend are conspiring to keep us apart. We can do this, though. Can't we? We can make this work? We have to, because I can't imagine my life without her.
4 Star Review by Lisa Kane
This book
continues right where Tall, Tatted and Tempting ended. Emily has been spending
the last 3 months with her parents, having returned to them in exchange for
treatment of Logan’s brother Matt’s experimental treatment. But now she is going
to Julliard in New York and following her artistic dream and returning to
Logan. Although they haven’t talked at all, both still share that rare
connection and feel incomplete without the other.
Emily
returns to Logan and the two are determined to make things work. Emily has
learned how to sign so she is better able to communicate with Logan. Logan is
starting classes himself and has his future planned out. He feels Emily is too
good for him and he will probably never be able to provide a life such as the
one her family’s wealth provided. But he knows they love each other and they
can make a life together.
“Logan I
left you. And I’ll understand if you’ve moved on. I just want to be sure that
you want me now, from this moment forward. Whatever you did or whoever you saw
when I was gone is none of my business.”
Meanwhile,
Logan’s brother Matt is doing well with his experimental treatment. Unfortunately,
Emily’s father treats Logan like gum on the bottom of his shoe.
“You’ll run
your little tattoo shop and you’ll have a shitty apartment and you’ll buy your
wife a tiny diamond. And you’ll be happy with that. But I’ll never be happy
with that for my daughter.”
He’s gone so
far as to move her former fiancé Trip (the same one who she left at the alter
because he called her stupid in public over her dyslexia) in with her.
“Do I get a
pass for being dyslexic?” I ask. “I put up with your dyslexia for a long time,
Em,” he says. “You put up with my dyslexia?”
He and Logan
have more than a few testosterone pissing matches. Emily’s mother likes Logan
and feels he has brought positive changes to her life. She secretly
outmaneuvers her husband to counteract his every sabotage move.
“Just
remember Bro, I popped her fuc#ing cherry.”
Logan’s
brothers, Pete and Sam are getting mixed up with Bones, a pretty unsavory
character from the first book. Pete ends up in some serious trouble. Emily is
most content when she is with Logan’s family; they love her and treat her as
one of their own. When Emily is to perform a piece at her school it is a
turning point for her and her father. Their happiness is cut short when the
unthinkable happens. Will Logan and Emily be able to turn fate around and
follow their dream of a life together?
“Do you
think he’s ever going to wake up?”
I loved this
book; I am a true fan of this series. The Reed brothers are warm and real
without being sappy. There is plenty of material to fill several books and I
can’t wait to read all of them.
“He’s the
peace in my soul. He’s the one who opened my shackles, and I’ll love him
forever.”
