Blog tour Exclusive Teaser, review and giveaway: Perfect Lie by Teresa Mummert

Synopsis

Sometimes love burns so hot in your veins that it consumes all rational thought. That’s why Brock and I never had a chance. I had to start my life over. College was my chance to become someone new. I changed everything about myself to fit in, but one person saw through my facade.
The attraction between Abel and I was undeniable, but I still hadn’t healed from the painful secret I carried around with me. Abel struggled to get me to face my past in order to move forward. In doing so, he revealed a secret of his own; one that changed everything I thought I knew.
A secret that would bring Brock back into my life and force me to face the truth of what really happened the day I lost him.

5 star review by Nicole Lorenzo

“Sometimes love burns so hot in your veins that it consumes all rational thought. You become a walking shell that can no longer function without your significant other whispering into your soul, telling your heart to beat.”

Being bullied all of her life and unwanted by her own mother left Delilah (Lie) Monroe scarred and feeling unloved by everyone until she met Brock.  Brock was troubled, but he loved Delilah fiercely and for the first time in her life she felt worth something. But Brock lied when he promised her forever and now Lie was alone again. When Lie moves to Florida to attend College, she wants nothing more than to escape her past and the haunting memories that follow her. She changes everything about herself in hopes to start over new and fit in for once in her life. Trying to erase the memory of the love of her life isn’t easy, and Lie finds herself partying hard with her roommate by experimenting with drugs, and drinking to try and drown her pain.

“I was no longer the sad, worthless girl who cowered and cried to herself. I was no one, anyone and anything I wanted to be.”

When she meets Abel Jensen she feels an instant attraction to him. Abel is gorgeous and mysterious and he sees through Lie’s attempt to hide from herself and her past. Lie hasn’t had feelings for anyone since Brock and the way she feels about Abel scares her and makes her feel guilty. Abel is there to help Lie when she spirals out of control, and comfort her from her nightmares. Lie learns that Abel has had his share of sadness and heartbreak as well making the connection she feels to him even stronger.

“I lived in the past and merely existed in the present, with no care for my future. That’s just the way it was.”

Abel knows that Lie won’t be able to move forward with her future until she addresses her past. He pushes her to open up to him so he can help her heal and move on. But when Delilah finally does face her past she realizes that nothing was as it seemed and what she learns changes everything!

“You’re my forever. He was a lesson.”

I have one word to describe this book and it is WOW, I loved it from beginning to end. You really take an emotional journey with poor Delilah as you learn about her past, and her relationship with Brock. Abel is like her Guardian Angel with slightly dirty wings. He has his own sad past but he helps Delilah to learn to stop hiding from hers. Their chemistry is intense, even though Delilah has not yet healed and can barely tolerate being friends never mind a relationship. Now wait to you get to the twist in this book! Holy Moly it’s a big one, and I didn’t see it coming at all which makes it that much more amazing! I love stories that shock me and keep me guessing. I actually went back to reread it again to see if I could catch it or if I missed something! It’s that good and I know you won’t regret reading this! I do have a few questions that I cannot address here because I don’t want to give anything away!  Teresa Mummert you are a genius and I was a fan before this book and an even bigger one now!!  Go read Perfect Lie, you won’t regret it!!
