Review and Giveaway: Lost in Flight by Neeny Boucher

*Recommended for audiences over the age of 17*

If you like your characters quirky, socially awkward and badly behaved, this is the book for you. What if you got another chance with the love of your life even when you didn’t want one? Would you grab the opportunity or run as fast as you could in the opposite direction?

Christina Martin, lawyer, ex high school grunge queen, teenage bride, divorcee and once a suspected killer, is confronted by a past that she has spent the last eight years carefully avoiding. Drawn back to her hated hometown with her family under the worst of circumstances, matters are complicated when she finds the love of her life, ex husband and nemesis, Nicholas Riley, also in residence.

Riley, a man with secrets, who has a penchant for psychological games, made wary by life and with one weakness, his ex wife. Christina is the woman that brings out all his protective instincts and others less noble. All it takes is one fateful night, where these two collide, opening a door both thought slammed shut and locked forever.

From the past to the present, Christina and Riley show that true love doesn’t always run smoothly, it might not conquer all and most importantly, love is complicated.

“Lost in Flight” is book one in the “Complicated Love Series.”

5 Fabulous Stars
Review by Amy Bustard

The characters in this book were great!!!  I laughed out loud so many times and wanted to cry at other times. This book had a little bit of everything that readers crave.. Bad Boys, Crazy Girls, Hot Rockers and the wench you really would love to hit!

This is the First book in The complicated Love Series.. and YES.. This love story is truly Complicated!!

Christina Martin.. a.k.a. “Dina” was the high school grunge queen who caused ruckus growing up in a small talkative town, marrying her high school love Nickolas Riley a.k.a “Riley”. Unfortunately things don’t always work out as planned and Dina leaves town along with a trail of gossip and rumors behind only to return years later due to a tragedy.

Christina- The now divorced and successful lawyer finds herself in a very exposed and complicated position when she wakes up in Riley’s bed naked. She doesn’t even know how she got there.

“Look. Okay- I don’t know what happened last night. It’s all really weird and um, unusual because, well, I just don’t like you like that anymore”

Riley who couldn’t maintain his laughter due to his current ex-wife’s behavior just continued to taunt her.

“Really? Cause last night- when I was buried in you to the hilt and you were screaming my name, you seemed to like me plenty.”

And that’s where the reunion of a complicated love hate relationship begins..
The two despise each other. They avoid each other and every time their paths collide things get harder and harder. The deep down love they have for each other that are hidden beneath the pain from their tragic past. This story goes back and forth to the past of the love that they shared and the fights and troubles they had to the present tense.

You get both points of view from Christina and Riley. With paths that are intertwined and not always able to avoid each other these two really stir it up. The fights they get into and the things that are said range between hysterical and damaging. There were so many things that were left unsaid between these two and when the issues of their past are brought into the present and everything is out in the open, Christina and rRley must decide if they deserve to give one another a second chance.

I’m not one for spoilers so I couldn’t really chose quotes that I really loved without fear that it would give away great parts of the book. It’s one of those books that you just NEED to read. It was really good and the things these two said and did to each other both past and present either had me laughing my butt off or really feeling bad for one or the other. The supporting characters in the story were great and helped make the plots deeper. Although you get a bit of and HEA there is still a bit of a cliff hanger as to what is to come. I look forward to reading the 2nd book and can’t wait to see what happens with the crazy duo!!
