Let Love Shine in a beautiful continuation of Maddy and Reid’s story. It spans the course of a few years and starts off with their journey as new parents. When they bring their baby boy home for the first time both Reid and Maddy are overwhelmed with both the joy and fear that comes with being a new parent. Together and with the help of their closest friends they navigate all the ups and downs of adulthood and we watch both Reid and Maddy mature along the way.

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted nothing more than a family of my own. Now, I have it. There’s nothing else in this world that could make me happier.”

As young parents you go through a lot of ups and downs and we get to see Reid and Maddy deal with these real life issues like lack of sleep and intimacy. One of the biggest problems for Maddy, is her feeling self-conscience over her post baby body. Reid is amazing as always and tries his hardest to show Maddy that she is beautiful, stretch marks and all.

“No matter how you see it, your body is more perfect to me now than it ever was before. Your body gave me, gave us, the most beautiful thing in the world.”

Along the way we get a glimpse of the work Reid does and the people he helps with his friend Dylan. We also get to see Maddy juggle finishing her degree and being a new mom. We get a peek into what was going on with Melanie, Bryan and Momma C, which I loved!  It was refreshing to see no real turmoil in this novella, just a taste of how Maddy and Reid deal with real life; the good and the bad. All in all I thought it was a sweet conclusion to Maddy and Reid’s beautiful love story.

“These are the moments when I know that no matter what’s gone wrong in my life, no matter what mistakes and trials my future brings, I will have at least done one thing right.”
