From New York Times Bestselling Author, S.L. Scott, comes this downright delicious peek into the male anatomy... er, mind of Hardy Richard.

There are only two rules:

1. Don’t get too close.

2. Don’t fall in love.

Correction: Don’t ever fall in love. I don’t need the baggage of relationships. Life should be simple, easy, uncomplicated.

The problem I’m faced with is, if I really believe life should be that easy, that uncomplicated, and that simple, then why am I still thinking about a woman I met on a random Monday at the bar? A girl who was never a Gimlet, and always a Paloma. Yep, I called it all wrong last night and I’m starting to wonder if my heart will pay the price.

I might have broken rule number one, but rule number two remains firmly intact. For now. Sort of. Okay, maybe rule two hasn’t been broken, but it’s definitely been bent.

Hardy Richard was once that big finance guy who lived in an expensive high rise condo in Manhattan.  Until it ruined him and he realized that he didn't want that life any more.  He moved to Brooklyn and used his hard earned money to open up his own bar.  He had a successful bar, countless women who wanted him, and a reputation for fantastic skills in the bedroom.  He was happy and living life.  He had two rules that he has always managed to stick to. Until Virginia Ryan walked in his bar. Once that happened all bets were off.

Virginia is a twenty four year old virgin who has a big crush on one of her coworkers.  She finds herself at Hardy's  bar looking to be on the receiving end of his sexual expertise. But when he finds out she is a virgin, everything changes. He can't have sex with this woman in his office.  So he lets her down gently and she leaves that night.  But Virginia is never far from his kind.  When he sees her again she has a proposition for him.  One he should not be accepting, one that could end very badly where his heart is concerned but it is also one that he just cannot refuse. He will take this woman anyway he can get ger. She wants him to teach her how to be sexy, how to get the attention of her crush and so much more.  But what happens when feelings start to come into play?  Can they both keep up this charade and pretend that it is nothing more than sex between two people?

I love SL Scott and was so excited to read this one.  I wil say the the writing is great and I absolutely adored Hady. Yes he was a complete manwhore but that all changed when Virginia entered his life. I love the internal banter that he had when it came to his feelings. Love and feelings is so foreign to him at this point in his life. He know that feeling the way he does about Virginia after only meeting her once is completely insane.  But yet he cannot help himself.  When it came to his internal battle with himself I loved the way Ms. Scott wrote it an a humors and witty way that just made you fall in love with him even more.

Virginia was a little hard to like. Maybe because I had a hard time understanding her and what she wanted.  She had this amazingly hot man, who was willing to teach her everything. She wanted to find love but never realized it was right in front of her. Instead she wanted an arrogant asshole who flirted with every woman he met. I just didn't get her.  She was a virgin but yet experience in other ways, she was flirty and sexual but at the same time very naive, all in ways that sometimes confused me.

I really enjoyed this story and think it has everything to do with Hardy.  But parts of the story just fell flat for me.  There were things that I didn't understand and felt like I was missing something.  Overall I did enjoy this book and Hardy himself. It was fun and witty and very sexy.
