Release Blitz: Hated You Then by M. Robinson

From Wall Street Journal & USA Bestselling Author M. Robinson comes Hated You Then, book 1 in the Love Hurts Duet.
Release Date: September 17th
A coming of age, enemies to lovers, contemporary romance filled with angst and all the feels.

I couldn’t remember a time before her... Harley Jameson.

Before she owned me.
Hated Me.
Needed me.

Before I hated her…

Things were simple.
We had an understanding.
Bully. Fight. Hate. It’s what we did.
Mind. Body. Soul. It’s how we loved.

I thought nothing would ever change that, until everything did.

She was mine.

Always had been.
Always would be.
Nothing altered that.
Not how much I hated her.
Not how much she hated me.
Especially, not how much I hated…

That I LOVED her.

Review by Lisa Kane

Harley Jameson is the apple of her daddy's eye. She may be a toddler, but she was raised surrounded by bikers and is worldly way beyond her years. She's a little princess and is loved by just about everyone. That is everyone but Jackson Pierce.

Jackson and Harley bring out the worst in each other. For some unknown reason, they have a hate/hate relationship. All through school their teachers and parents have had to separate them. They prank each other to cause mayhem and say the most foul things.

A good part of the story explains the relationship between their families and the dynamics of their relationship. To be honest, I would have like more insight into their thoughts as they grew up, not so much of the back and forth bickering between Jackson and Harley.

The story really picks up momentum when things start to change in Jackson's house. Just a reminder-his parents are Aiden and Bailey. How his family struggles when some serious challenges are thrown its way for me, is when the book became really interesting. Jackson is still so young to cope with devastating circumstances, things that would knock an adult on his butt, yet alone a kid. These events shape his views on life and love and what he believes waits for him in the future.

Harley is almost cocooned by the love of her family. She's fortunate that she has had few real adversities in her young life. She and Jackson have very different experiences as they grow up. I'm not quite sure why she and Jackson carried on their feud so fiercely over the years. I understand there is a fine line between love and hate and they cross it on a regular basis.

There are some heartbreaking moments in this story. I think readers will be blind sided by some events they never imagined happening. Even though I hated where the story went, I loved it because I didn't see these things coming.

The story is a cliff hanger so expect that those few final moments of the story will wreck you and wondering how the hell did this happen!
