Blurb

The feud
between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar.
Only
neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before
either of us was born.
Our
grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my
grandfather’s wedding day—when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry
him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.
The two men
spent years fighting over Grace Copeland, who also happened to be their third
business partner.  But in the end, neither man could steal half of her
heart away from the other.
Eventually,
they all went their separate ways.  Our
grandfathers married other women, and the two men became one of the biggest
business rivals in history.
Our fathers
continued the family tradition of feuding.
And then Weston and I did, too.
For the
most part, we kept as much distance as possible.
Until the
day the woman who started the feud died—and unexpectedly left one of the most
valuable hotels in the world to our grandfathers to share.
Now I’m
stuck in a hotel with the man I was born to hate, trying to unravel the mess
our families inherited.
As usual,
it didn’t take long for us to be at each other’s throats.
Weston
Lockwood was everything I hated: tall, smart, cocky, and too gorgeous for his
own good.  We were fire and ice.
But that
shouldn’t be an issue. Our families were used to being at war. There was just
one minor problem, though.   Every time
Weston and I fought, we somehow wound up in bed.

Review by Lisa Kane

Sophia Sterling is heading to New York from London. Her longtime boyfriend dumped her and she's ready to take on a new challenge. She's talented, smart and savvy but never seems to come up to her father's expectations. She's good, but never great.

When she barely makes her flight, who does she find sitting in her seat? Weston Lockwood, her sworn enemy. Their family's history of rivalry started several generations ago. Both their grandfather's were in love with Grace, although she loved both of them, she couldn't commit to just one. Once united, forever divided. Although, years ago there may have been one night when Sophia and Weston got down and dirty with their hatred for each other.

Grace left a dynasty with the Countess Hotel. Each family was left a part of the hotel, and Sophia and Weston must work together. The ultimate goal is for each family to out bid the other in order to secure a majority stake in the hotel.

While from a visitor's perspective, the grand hotel appeared in tip top shape, it had a laundry list of major issues that had been building over a long period of time.

They might both protest that they are nothing but rivals, but there is a bubbling cauldron in both of them. Which leads to lots of hate sex. (sometimes a little too much hate sex) Weston's family has issues, and he is scarred by his youth. His demons led him to make bad choices, but he is trying to find his own way. He too is undervalued by his family. They have never supported him, but he craves their approval.

"Hey Soph?" Weston said.
I looked up.
He grinned. "I've been waiting a while to use this one. Parting is such sweet swallow."

Two broken souls, that are drawn together like magnets, both testing the waters but afraid to wade in too deeply in these uncharted waters. In between bouts of angry sex, they come to respect each other, they bring out the best in one another.

Weston Lockwood was a walking dichotomy, and I enjoyed the friction just as much as I enjoyed the smooth.

But secrets can lead to broken hearts and misunderstandings. Expect to feel a little tightening around your heart.

My heart didn't want to walk away. So instead, I'd have to put a double lock on that door to make sure it didn't accidentally crack open again.

Weston, being a man, is going to screw up. Big time. But also being a man, he isn't about to let the best thing that's ever happened to him, slip away!

Her anger was like my flint, and I was the little boy who liked to play with matches. But in this moment, I realized it wasn't her anger I'd been attracted to at all-it was her strength.
