Review for Fate Interrupted 2 by Kaitlyn Cross
4 Stars
Fate Interrupted book #1 left us with a jaw dropping ending
and book #2 picks up right where it left off.
Dean finally found his one and only with Evy and in the
first book their happily ever after is shattered by Megan and her shocking
news. Megan’s father is watching his every move. Dean quickly learns that if he
didn’t do what was asked the ones he love will suffer. Dean will do anything
and everything to protect his friends and especially Evy, even if it means not
being able to be with her. Dean is hell bent on finding a way back to Evy but
it is a bit harder than he thought it would be.
He had come this far only to realize he couldn’t go a step further, no
matter the cost. He loved Evy. Period. Nothing was worth being away from her,
especially this.
Evy knew of Dean’s reputation when they started dating.
Although hesitant, she wasn’t able to fight her feelings for him and she was
the one who ended up capturing his heart. Unexpectedly forced apart by his
playboy past, Evy has no choice but to watch the one she loves be with someone
else. She is devastated and broken. She
realizes she has no choice but to let go and leaves the rest up to fate.
Evy’s eyes gravitated back to Dean’s, taking solace in them while she
could. “Is this really happening?” she whispered coldy.
“I’m sorry. I should have never gone, but I didn’t know what else to
do.” “Can you ever forgive me?”
Dean and Evy are finally back together. Megan has agreed to
speak with her father, but things continue to get complicated. With Sugar’s
endanger of being shut down again. Evy has no choice but to come to an
agreement with Megan’s father, one that will cost her heart.
Unexpectedly, Evy breaks things off with Dean. He is shocked
and heart broken. After everything they are going through and have been through
he refuses to believe that she doesn’t love him anymore. Dean also refuses to
let Megan’s father win. When the truth comes out and Dean has exactly what he
needs to gain the upper hand, he realizes he may be too late and will have to
come to terms with losing his one true love, Evy.
“If you will let me, I will spend the rest of my life making it up to
you.”
This book kept me on edge. I found myself yelling, smiling
and yes even getting a littler teary eyed. This book has a great balance of
angst, suspense and romance with a bit of comedy coming from the characters but mostly from Brooke and Ben.
My only complaint about this book is that I wish there was
an epilogue.
I have to say that Kaitlyn Cross is definitely an author to
keep your eyes on. Her stories are wonderful.
A job very well done by Ms. Cross
