Blog Tour: Arranged by Sara Wolf

When Rose Jensen’s grandfather dies, he leaves her enough money to save her parents’ failing business and get her through UCLA. The only catch – she has to marry Lee Montenegro, the infuriating half-Spanish, all-playboy transfer. Rose and Lee’s grandfathers were fast friends, and betrothed their grandchildren to each other.

Lee wants the money to run from his suffocating family, and turns his full burning charisma on Rose, but she won’t give in. She’ll never marry someone she doesn't love, and who doesn't love her. But memories of a mysterious boy in her childhood haunt her, and Lee insists they know each other. With her parent’s pressures mounting, her scholarship slipping, and Lee’s advances heating up with more than just money-lust, Rose is torn between doing the right thing for her family, and doing the right thing for her heart.

Our 4 star review

The definition of arrange:
To put into a proper order or into a correct or suitable sequence, relationship, or adjustment

Rose Jensen is a student at UCLA. She worked her a$$ off to get her scholarship so that her parents, who business is failing wouldn’t have to worry about paying for college. With no time for partying, playing or men she focuses on her classes. When her grandfather dies she is contacted by his lawyer. In his will he left her a sum of money. This money will help her parents out, it is an answer to her family’s problems but as well all know nothing good ever comes for free, ever! In order for her to collect the money she has to marry and stay married to UCLA’s newest student, Lee Montenegro. He is the gorgeous half Spanish playboy on the swim team. Rose learns that her grandfather and Lee’s grandfather were best friends and decided to arrange their grandchildren’s marriage to each other.

“Marriage?” I snap. “Not to him. I can’t, Brett. Marriage for money? How old fashioned and ridiculous is this? You can’t expect me to do this. There’s no way I’m doing this.”

Lee Montenegro wants nothing more than to get away from his family, especially his father and Rose is his ticket. She is beautiful, smart and hardworking and doesn’t easily fall for his charm. He knows she will never marry someone she doesn’t love especially someone who doesn’t love her.

“Is that why you kept trying to talk to me?” I say. “Because you knew about this?” Lee frowns. “Yes, I knew about this, but-“

“I would rather die than marry you,” I say. My tears well up. “Rose!” Lee shouts. “Wait!” “It wasn’t just for the money, I swear-“

Conflicted with her feelings Rose finds herself remembering a mysterious boy from her childhood haunting her in her sleep. Lee keeps insisting they know each other and he keeps trying to get her to remember but she never does. Slowly Rose let’s Lee in and the chemistry they have for each other is undeniable and becomes more about their hearts than the money. She feels connected to him but doesn’t understand why. Things seem to be going well for Rose and Lee until someone from his past weasels her way in.

“You showed me what I was missing out on. You showed me a whole other world. And instead of repaying you, I betrayed you.”

The pressure builds as her parents company continues to sink and with her scholarship in jeopardy, Rose has to decide to try and do right by her family or to follow her heart.

“I love you, Rose Jensen. Don’t ever f@#king doubt that again. No matter what happens from now on- never forget that.”

Rose is a beautiful, smart and independent young lady. All of her focus has been on school. She doesn’t party and her only friends are Jen, who is in a band and her promiscuous party animal of a roommate Selena.
When Lee comes barreling into her life along with her grandfather’s arrangement. She finds herself torn between family and her one true love. Her friends help her along and she realizes she has been missing out on life.

Rose is the happiest she has ever been until she learns a secret that devastates her. Everything around her starts to crumple including her heart. When the truth comes out Rose is shocked and angered and broken.
This book had me laughing, sighing. The chemistry between Rose and Lee is electrifying. Be prepared for angst, lots of angst, heartache and frustration. Oh and did I mention the cliffhanger? Yeah this story leaves you hanging.

This story captured my attention right away and kept me enthralled till the end.  A great read! Sara Wolf did a wonderful job with the characters and the story.  I look forward to seeing where Rose and Lee end up in Disarranged, coming May 27th 2013.
