Review: Inevitable by Angela Graham

After experiencing a humiliating breakup, twenty-two-year-old Cassandra Clarke is fresh out of college and living a simple solitary life without any intentions of pursuing love anytime soon.

When the estate next door sells, the last thing Cassandra expects is the unnerving attraction she feels for her sinfully handsome neighbor, Logan West, the young and charming single father with a playboy reputation.

It’s through Oliver, Logan’s four-year-old son, who keeps popping up in her childhood tree house, that she slowly begins to catch glimpses of the compassionate and wounded man Logan has hidden beneath his strong exterior.
Cassandra knows it's wrong and that she's heading for another heartbreak.
Logan will never be able to give her what she wants…love

4.5 Star Review by Guest Reviewer Allison East

Cassandra Clarke, or Cassie to her friends, is a great heroine. She is everything and more- the typical "girl next door". She just got out of college, and a year ago- the man she was with for five years, cheated on her and broke her heart. It is a tough thing to live in a small town like Harmony and it is even farther to escape the truth and the past. Cassie has given up on love because it will be so hard for her to trust again.

Enter brooding hero Logan West. *Swoon* I  see that Logan is a playboy from the start, so I tried not to get my hopes up for the two. He is a cad, and a womanizer, and he sets his sights on the innocent Cassie. She, however, has other plans.

I fell in love with Logan's son Oliver- how could you not? Cassie sure did. Cassie decided to be friends with Logan- and their relationship developed from there. You could see as the story went on, how Cassie changed Logan, and also how Logan affected Cassie.

I also really liked Julia- Logan's sister. Julia is very upfront in warning Cassie off when they first meet.  She was quick to dismiss Cassie as one of Logan's girls, but they seemed to form a bond with one another- and strike up a great friendship as well.

Both Cassie and Logan have trouble trusting people and opening up about their pasts, but together they begin to learn how to open up to each other. In the book world though, love never comes easy- and something always happens!

The slow building friendship is what I really loved about this book. That is the way it should happen, like real life.  You meet someone, become friends, and then become more. A lot of novels now seem like the whole "love at first sight" and everything is so rushed. I loved the tempo of Logan and Cassie's relationship. You could tell they wanted more, but they were bound and determined not to mess up what they had.

Angela executed a really well written story. All of her characters I loved, with the exception of one shady man. I wasn't disappointed like others were at the end. Yes, there was a curve ball at the end, yes it was kind of a cliffhanger- but it doesn't leave you mad. It only left me wanting more, and I can be patient when I know there will be a second book, and Logan and Cassie will get there ending with no cliffhanger. Book two is set to come out in October and it is also on Goodreads. Read Inevitable, and mark book number two, so you can remember to check it out! I can't wait for more of the Harmony series, and Logan and Cassie's epic ending.
