Synopsis

Daisy “Little Flower” Anderson has lived her entire life on the sidelines of the Renegade Sons MC. Her father is a member, and her mother a club whore turned old lady. Not wanting to follow their footsteps, she chose a different path; one that keeps her close to the biker family she loves, but out of the club. Struggling to keep it together, she never thought she would have anything of her own, until she met Preach. He is everything she swore she didn't want in life. One night of passion leads to unexpected consequences, and she knows, now more than ever, it’s time to move forward. Garrett “Preach” Austin lived his life caught in his father’s iron fist. He never thought he would want anything more than freedom from his past, until he met his “Little Flower”. She shows him there is more to life than pain. Preach has a secret; one that forces him to choose between Daisy and his brothers. Even though he loves Daisy, the Renegade Sons are the only true family he has. He knows he can’t have her, yet he can’t let her go. When Daisy moves on, Preach realizes what he’s lost. Can he prove that he’s the man for her, or is he too late?

Review

4.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

Renegade RejectAfter reading Renegade Lady I could not wait for Reject.  I am not going to lie I was a little bit nervous going into this one. We get a glimpse of Preach and Daisy in Lady and you just know how much he is going to screw up and wonder how and if he is going to be able to redeem himself.  Let me say that Emily and Dawn did not disappoint with this one.  It had drama, angst, suspense and it also had Preach (sigh).  Preach is the man that you love to hate and hate to love.  You will want to throat punch him one minute and hug him the next.  Preach and Daisy’s story is one heck of a ride but one worth taking.

Daisy grew up in the MC world but it wasn’t necessarily a world that she wanted to be in.  Her father who is a member is also an alcoholic and her mom is a bitch who is mean to her in every way.  The only family that she can really count on is her grandparents and her Uncle Holt.  She had every intention of staying away from the club, not wanting to be a club whore or end up like her mother.  But when she meets Garrett “Preach” Austin that changes for her.

Preach is a new member of the Renegade Sons.  After spending some time in jail he becomes a member and manages to escape his abusive father.  When he meets Daisy, he knows that he needs to stay away from her.  Club rules and all.  But that seems to be impossible for him.   Daisy is unlike any girl that he has met and he has every intention of making her his.  He just needs to wait until she is 18 to be with her.  One minute Preach is sweeping Daisy off her feet and the next he is screwing up and breaking her heart.  Daisy eventually leaves to take care of her father, and at the same time hoping to get Preach out of her mind.

Three years later,Daisy is back and Preach is not the same man that she left behind years ago.  Preach has basically self destructed since losing Daisy but now that she is back will he try to win her back?

I loved Daisy.  She was sweet and loving but at the same time didn’t take crap.  She has dealt with a mother who treats her like crap, for reasons that Daisy isn’t even sure of.  And then there is Preach who as much as she still loves him and feels the connection with him she knows that being with him will only break her heart in the end.  Does she completely melt to his touch and want to give into to him on a physical level?  Absolutely.  But emotionally she holds her own and I loved her for her strength when it came to him.  She is a tough chick and if Preach wants her back he will have to work his ass off to prove he is worthy of her love.

Oh what can I say about Preach. He is the guy that will capture your heart and then break it at the same time.  He loved Daisy, that much is clear.  But there was this push and pull between the two of them.  Preach has a past that is not a pleasant one.  And in ways that past comes back to haunt him making it difficult for him to be the person he needs to be for Daisy.  He wants her, he loves her, but he pushes her away.  He screws up on more than one occasion and you want to just kill him for some of the crap he pulls.  But you can’t because you understand what he went through and why he screws up.  Does it make it right and was I ok with it?  No freakin way!!!  I wanted to kick his ass.  But a huge part of me loved him and felt for him and knew where it was all coming from.  I loved him, screw ups and all!  Because when he was being the man I truly believe he was, the one with the sweet and sexy side, the one that loved Daisy and wanted to be worthy of her,  you could not help but love him.

I love this series and cannot wait for the next one.  Dawn and Emily are an amazing writing team.  You feel the emotions that their characters are going through.  You feel their pain and their hurt.  There were times when I wanted to throw my kindle,  to knock some sense into both characters and then times when I just wanted to hug them both.  I laughed and cried.  I got angry and frustrated.  I loved the angst and the drama and most of all I loved Preach and Daisy together.  Regardless of everything they have been through they were meant to be happy together.  I also loved seeing the other characters as well.  I for one cannot wait for Timber and Reese’s story. While I love both of these men there is something about Reese.  Oh I love that man and cannot wait for his story.  Oh and I cannot forget about the the epilogue which was freaking fantastic and the best part was the very end.  Had me smiling and laughing.  Another amazing job by Emily Minton and Dawn Martens.  Cannot wait for more Renegade Sons.

Excerpt/Teaser:

Preach “Can you do me a favor, brother?” Timber lifts his chin. “What’cha need?” Lifting a nearly empty bottle of beer, Maker motions for the prospect to bring him another. “I was supposed to pick up Little Flower, but I’m too drunk to have her on my bike. Can you run down to the diner and take her home?” “If you knew you had to pick up your daughter, why the hell have you been drinking?” He shrugs. “I didn’t mean to get drunk, but it just happened.” “If you for once put the beer down, it wouldn’t just happen,” Timber mumbles under his breath before looking toward me. “You wanna take a ride?” Nodding, I stand up and follow him outside. “I didn’t know Maker had a kid.” “He’s got a daughter, and she’s probably the prettiest little thing you’ve ever seen. His bitch of a wife keeps her away from the club, so she’s not around much. ” “Lula’s always here. Why doesn’t she let the girl come around?” He slides onto his bike before answering me. “Lula likes to be the center of attention. When her daughter’s around, she’s nothing but a shadow.” I climb onto my bike, wondering what is so special about this kid.
