*Warning: Although Playing His Game can be read as a stand-alone novel, it's highly recommended you read Changing His Game first. Playing His Game contains sex, drugs, and briefly touches on M/F/F. Recommended for mature readers.
I'm a pretty carefree person. I believe in living life to the fullest, having no regrets and just having fun. This is my outlook on life when Scott Reynolds collides with it.
It was supposed to be casual and fun. We couldn't get serious because our circumstances wouldn't allow it. My sister and his brother were practically married. Soon, one hook up became two, then five, then ten, until I lost count completely. Our casual relationship became something more... to me.
How the hell did I let this happen?
I'm falling for this man and it's becoming a problem. But Scott has his own problems, his own demons. He's dug himself into a hole so deep, and he needs me to help him get out... and I do it. I stupidly do it and screw up my life, my reputation and any chance of changing people's perception of me. For the first time I care what people think of me, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat…
If Scott weren't such an asshole
4 Star Review by Jen Skewes
Ah, I fell in love with sexy porn star Jarod Reynolds in
Changing His Game and after reading the second installment in this series I fell in love with his equally sexy brother
Scott. All though at times I wanted to
kick him right where it hurts, but I still loved him. Playing His Game is Scott and Winnie’s
story. I loved it. It was fun and sexy with enough drama to get
your heart going.
Scott and Winnie met at a party. Scott’s brother is dating Winnie’s
sister. There was an instant attraction
between the two of them. But Being that
their siblings are dating Winnie decided that anything sexual with Scott
Reynolds would just be way too complicated.
Winnie still lives in Minnesota with her parents. She works three jobs and is I guess you can
say a pretty carefree and open person. When
she meets Scott there is no denying the chemistry between them. But something is holding her back . She wants
him but knows that them being together would just be a disaster.
Scott feels the attractions just as much as she does. He wants her and will do everything he can to
get her in his bed. That moment comes
when they finally give into their desires and let me say it is a steamy
one! They decide on being just friends
with occasional benefits. After all they
don’t even live in the same state. Texting
everyday, having sex as often as they can and becoming best friends with no
strings attached is all great until feelings become involved. Especially when those feelings aren't necessarily
reciprocated. Things between them become
a little rocky and a situation causes some issues in their friendship. Winnie would do anything for Scott and trust
me when I say anything. But sometimes doing anything to help someone you
love isn’t always enough. Will Scott and
Winnie become more than just friends with benefits or is that all they will
ever be?
I loved Scott, I did.
But there were times when I just wanted to hurt him. He just made some poor decisions that completely
frustrated me. Scott Reynolds is sexy, charming, sexy, sweet
and did I say sexy? And despite his
stupidity at times I still loved him. He
cared for Winnie and that was evident, he was just afraid of his own feelings
and quite frankly in denial. Winnie was
so young and I think maybe at times naïve.
She was funny, sarcastic and had this "say what you what" attitude. I loved her and there were a few moments
where I felt so bad for her. I loved
seeing so much of Autumn and Jarod in this one.
I love the relationship that they each had with their siblings. Tawney makes some appearances as well and is still Tawney and if I am being
honest not a big fan of hers. But that
could just be me…lol
Justine Elvira once again has given us a wonderful love
story that is both funny, sexy and just the right amount of drama. Scott and Winnie were sexy and cute
together. I loved the witty banter and
texts back and forth. I wanted them to
both wake up and realize what was right in front of them. I wanted them to get their HEA together.
Another great job by Ms. Elvira!
