I love The Promise series by Kate Benson. Sophie has struggled to overcome Jack's "death" and make a new life for herself. Chase is the man who owns her heart and their journey has not been an easy one.
At the end of The Secret, both Sophie and her best friend Ana took pregnancy tests. One was positive, one negative. But before their results were revealed, they received news that their good friend Lucy had been found dead and her young son JT was alone. They ran out like bats out of hell and left Chase and Drake (Ana's boyfriend) wondering what was going on.
Tragedy brings all the characters together. JT is now without a parent and Ana and Sophie are caring for him. He is Sophie's godson and since there is no one else to step up and claim him, he is her responsibility. When she suffered a miscarriage with Jack's baby, she had been told she might never have children. So being a parent to JT would be no hardship. But who is pregnant? Drake and Ana are still working things out in their relationship. Her role as his submissive is still a work in progress. She knows deep down that Drake isn't quite ready for children and how would this affect their future?
Our relationship is unlike any other I've had, but I've always known that his devotion to me wasn't conditional on my submission to him. Still, the gentle reminder that he'll always put my needs before his never ceases to put a lump in my throat.
Jack is still trying to come to terms that he and Sophie have no future together, except as close friends. In spite of losing Sophie to Chase, he respects Chase and knows that Sophie will be cherished and loved with him. That is a bitter pill to swallow.
When it seems like the pieces are finally fitting together, a medical emergency threatens to end someone's life and all are deeply affected. Will Chase and Sophie have their HEA? What about Jack, doesn't he deserve to find someone special for him? Can Ana and Drake start a new life without the familiar surroundings and family they have? Each new beginning will be the end of the things these characters know, and yet will each be prepared to face these challenges head on?

After four books I finally have my answers for Sophie and who her soul mate is, and who she will spend her life with-the man that is her other half. The secondary characters in this series have all painted the canvas with rich personalities and stories that I just don't want to let them go. Maybe Ms. Benson will continue this series with some of their stories?

My name's Kate but you can also call me Katie. I just finished my debut novel The Promise, a contemporary romance with a dash of suspense. I grew up in
Texas and moved to Florida when I met the love of my life 13 years ago. I wrote my first poem when I was five and it was about my love affair with pickles.
I still love pickles but I like to think my writing has grown since then. I absolutely adore anything to do with books whether it's writing them or
devouring them in one sitting. I live on music, love and sweet tea and am known for my silly but blunt personality. I've been lucky enough to find the love
of my life, marry him and now we're working on our happily ever after. He inspires me in everything I do, but especially in telling love stories. I'm an
