Gia Maynard always had a wild streak. She doesn’t mind bending the rules, except when it comes to the rules of her heart. She doesn’t do relationships, instead she devotes her time to her true love....dancing. That is until Jasper Campbell comes along. Handsome, rich and powerful, Gia becomes totally enthralled with him until she finds herself slowly turning into someone she no longer knows.

Cam Hamilton has always been like a big brother to Gia. Now one of the hottest baseball players in the Major League, he is known for his moves on and off the field. But no matter how many women he has in his life, Gia will always be his number one.

When Gia’s heart is broken into pieces, Cam is right there to help her put it back together. When they both give in to their feelings for each other, will they be able to pretend that certain lines were never crossed, and certain feelings were never felt? Will Gia follow the rules that she has lived by for her entire life or is Cam the one worth breaking all of them for?

Review by Jen Skewes

WOW!!! Beth Rinyu did it again. Another beautiful story filled with so much emotion.

This was one book that I could not wait for. After reading When the Chips Are Down I knew that Gia and Cam were supposed to be together. There was one moment in that book, a very short scene,  a simple moment, that for me meant everything. Because in that moment I fell in love with Cam and just knew that he would be this amazing guy. And my God he was everything that I wanted him to be and more. Him and Gia were just so perfect together. He loved her even if only as a friend in the beginning, but as the reader you knew there was so much more to the two of them than they both wanted to admit.

Gia and Cam have known each other since they were young.  Their moms being best friends and all.  But over the years they became the best of friends.  They have always been there for each other and just have this amazing connection and friendship.  When the book starts Gia is dating an older man and Cam is living his dream as a professional baseball player on the other side of the country.  But no matter how far apart these two will always remain close.

When something happens in Gia’s life, Cam is right there by her side to comfort her and take care of her.  These two have been the best of friends for so long.  But lately Cam sees that maybe his feelings for Gia are more than what he thought them to be.  When they spend two weeks together they realize that maybe they are more than just friends and finally give into their feelings.  But when those two weeks are up and it is time for Gia to go back to her life in NY what will happen next?  Will they be able to make it work?

AHHHH!!!  I cannot even expresss how much I loved this book.  As I mentioned earlier I fell for Cam in the first book in this series.  And honestly he wasn't even in the book that much but this one scene just melted my heart and I knew.  I knew he would be this beautiful and amazing man who would love and cherish Gia.  And My God was he.  Cam is a hot and sexy baseball player who has no problem getting women and despite the fact that he may seem to be a player on and off the field, deep down he is still the sweet boy that Gia grew up with and loves.  She is in a way the one person who brings him back to reality.  Who knows him better than anyone.  She means the world to Cam.  And you could see just how much he loved her, even if he could not admit his feelings at first.  Just the way he cared for her, protected her, and always put her first.  She was his number one girl and he treated just so.  When she needed him the most he was there as her rock.

Oh Gia!  I loved her.  She is the spunky one of the two sisters and I loved that about her. She has sass and is very independent and hard working.  Her dream in life is to be a dancer.  She works very hard to achieve that dream while also working to pay the bills.  She never had any plans of getting married or having kids.  But life changes and you plan doesn't always go the way you hoped.  And when tragedy strikes it makes you really see life in a different way.

This book brought out so many emotions in me.  I was so happy and excited whenever Cam and Gia were together.  I rooted for them from the very beginning.  There were moments when my heart broke for Gia and everything she had to face.  I felt her pain and how much it affected her.  But then there were the happy times that I loved.  The special moments between Cam and Gia.  The bond between two sisters and their mom.  And honestly I even enjoyed the moments with Gia and her dad.  I was not a big fan of his in the beginning, but no matter what happened he loved his little girl and was there for her.

Cam and Gia's story made me cry, smile, laugh and completely swoon.  It is a beautiful story about friendship, love, heartbreak, dreams and figuring out what matters the most.  We get to see the other characters that we loved.  Carrie and Jason are very much a part of this story and it was great to see the two of them together and share their happily ever after.  Then ending was perfect.  In a way it sort of ended how it began, just years later - you will understand what I mean when you read this book.  Another amazing story and one of my new faves from Ms. Rinyu.

"Oh, come on, Cam, we can’t all be famous baseball players like you." He shook his head and flashed me that grin again. "So tell me, are they real?"
"What?" he creased his forehead, looking totally confused.
"Willow Asher's boobs."
"Only you, Gia!" He chuckled.
"Well, seriously. I mean, no one can be that beautiful naturally. Please tell me all those photos I see of her in magazines are photo-shopped."
"I don't know, but I think you're a natural beauty."
"Ahh, you’re so sweet, and a very good liar."
"Hey now, I'm not lying. I do."
"Well, thank you, Cam, but compared to her, I'm a rag doll."
He rolled his eyes. "So, how's ‘what's his face’ doing? Are you still seeing him?"
"What's his face? You mean, Jasper?" I giggled. "Yeah I am, and he's doing good. Wish he was here....but whatever."
"Well, where is he?"
"Tokyo." He nodded and looked straight ahead. "He was supposed to have come but was called away on business at the last minute. No biggie. I'm kinda used to it." I let out a deep sigh.
"Well, he must be pretty special, this is a record for you." He smirked.
"Look who's talking? Who is your flavor of the month? Let’s see, is it an exotic super model, or an Oscar winning actress?” I giggled.
"Don't have one this month." He laughed.
I held my hand over my heart. "Wow.....that's a shocker!"
"Keep it up, funny girl."
The light moment that had just passed between us made me realize once again just how different my life was from my ‘put together’ twin sister. "Carrie and Jason, they look so happy." I stared straight ahead.
"Don't sound so down. It's a good thing."
"Oh, I'm not. It's just sometimes, I wonder if I'm normal."
"What do you mean?"
"I can't ever imagine myself settling down and doing the whole marriage and baby thing. I mean, what’s wrong with me? It totally goes against the female DNA, doesn't it?"
"Nah. It's just not what you want out of life right now. Who knows, maybe someday you’ll change your mind."
"Doubt it, but whatever."
"Maybe What's his face -"
"J-a-s-p-e-r!" I laughed.
"Yeah, him." He laughed back. "Maybe he's the one that will make you change your mind."

Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed Creative Writing. There was always something about being able to travel to a different place or become a different person with just the stroke of a pen - or in today's world a touch of the keyboard. I am the author of The Exception To The Rule, An Unplanned Lesson, An Unplanned Life Drowning In Love, A Cry for Hope, A Will To Change, Blind Side of Love, When The Chips Are Down and Easy Silence.

My life is not as interesting as my books or the characters in them, but then again whose life is? I'm a mom of twin teenage boys, a crazy Border Collie and a cat with an identity crisis! I guess you can say writing is my form of Calgon!
