Review: Ladies Man by Katy Evans

Tahoe Roth.
Irreverent, cocky, playful and naughty.
He’s not the guy you date.
He’s the one night stand.
The one your mother warned you about.
The one your body craves.

You’d think the man who called me succulent would want to strip me down and spread me out on his bed—like he’s done with countless others.

But he passed on my offer….

Just like I’d once passed on his.

He’s wary, like I am.

He’s broken, like I am.

And everyone knows two broken parts can’t ever make a whole.

Tahoe and I are strictly friends.

So I distract myself with other men.

He doesn’t think my new man is good enough. This blond blue-eyed beast doesn’t think any man is—himself included.

But the more time we spend together, the more confused I feel.
I'm trying to open myself to love.

Yet I'm quickly realizing that the only man I want is Tahoe Roth.
The one man who will surely break my heart.

A sexy new Manwhore series standalone contemporary romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.

4.5 Stars!

Review by Lisa Kane

I adore Katy Evan's Manwhore series and have to confess that the whole time I was reading the first few, I was intrigued by Malcolm Saint's best friend;  Tahoe Roth and Rachel's best friend Gina Whitney Wylde. Tahoe gave Malcolm a run for the money in the player category. He couldn't be more different than Gina. Her only partners have been those that she has had serious relationships with-no one night stands. But the two of them are obviously attracted to one another, but don't want to mess up the great dynamic this circle of friends enjoys.

It's Tahoe's 26th birthday party and Gina is in over her head. Everywhere she looks there are girls in skimpy bikinis hanging all over Tahoe. And he does't mind it a bit. But Gina is determined to spend his birthday with him. One night, no strings. But surprisingly, his response to her offer isn't what she hoped for and Gina turns to someone else.

"You've been hurt before. I'm not a guy who can make a woman like you happy." He clenches his jaw and glances back at the party. "I don't get it. Being faithful to a woman your whole life like that."

Trent, the guy she's just met, he's sweet and a regular guy. He's not gorgeous and uber rich and Gina thinks they have more in common than she does with Tahoe anyway. The best thing of all-he's not a player and he wants a relationship. Now if only her heart can catch up with her head.

"Do you think about us at all, Regina?

"Yes."
His eyes sparkle menacingly.
"But that doesn't mean I'll ever do anything about it. You want other things, and I want what you can't give."

There's lots going on with this tight knit group of friends. Malcolm and Rachel are back from their honeymoon and are settling in to their new life. Tahoe and Gina are both feeling their absences and end up spending lots of time with each other. Gina witnesses first hand (on more than one occasion) just how many girls Tahoe sleeps with and yet surprisingly this doesn't change her feelings for him. I have to say, some of those parts were hard to read-as a reader I knew that deep down Tahoe wants Gina, but this guy never slows down his game! I wanted to give him a swift kick to the family jewels-come on and give it a rest already. I did question how Gina could still want him so much in spite of being hurt while loving him from afar.

But I still say, "Don't sleep with her tonight. Are you going to sleep with her tonight, Tahoe?"

"Yes, Regina, I'm going to sleep with her tonight."

Died, I just died. at this part.

But they weren't together, he's not cheating and she was giving things a try with Trent. So I just told my mind to shut up and kept reading!

"Why are you driving me crazy then? Why do I need more women, more often? Why can't I get you out of my skin?"

Like all good love stories there is tons of angst and steam and heartbreak. Tahoe totally redeems himself. As a side note, the next book in the series is going to be a real whopper and I guessed as I reading who the next couple would be-can't wait for their story!
