Review: Always Forever (Sometimes Never 4) by Cheryl McIntyre

"Will you marry me?"

Most women would love for Luke Walters to ask that question. But when Misty Handlin can’t seem to find the right answer, Luke offers a new proposal.

"Go sow your wild oats this summer, then give me your answer."

Knowing she’s struggling with the unanswered questions regarding her first love, Misty decides to do just that. Maybe some time with the man who stole her heart all those years ago will finally quell whatever is holding her back from Luke.

Kellin Patel was forced to leave Misty behind when he was twelve years old. While the U-Haul pulled away from the only place that felt like a home, he wasn’t sure if he’d see her again. As the years went by, and time never seemed to be on his side, he finally began to accept he would never have another chance with Misty.

Now, all grown up, Misty is back and looking for one last wild summer with Kellin. Though their lives have continued to move in opposite directions, they’ll realize one thing has Always remained the same: They’ve both been holding on to the memory of first love and unspoken regret.

Who will Misty choose to spend Forever with?

*This is a New Adult novel. Recommended for 17+.
Always Forever is a companion novel to Sometimes Never, but can be read as a stand-alone book.

4 Wonderful Second Chance at Love Stars!

Review by Lisa Kane

Misty is twenty one, in school and is now breathing easy because she has just finished her finals and is looking forward to a break from college over the summer. Her boyfriend Luke is a great guy. He's almost 30, is a financial trader and is financially secure. He surprises her one night with a marriage proposal and one seriously large piece of finger bling. But Misty can't bring herself to say " Yes." When she tells him she has to think about it, he asks her if it's because she feels she still has some wild oats to sow. Her hesitation makes him think this is what it must be about. He thinks she should spend the summer getting it all out of her system, but come back to him after the summer is over and they can start their life together. I found myself thinking what man wouldn't mind you sleeping with other guys over the summer just as long as you come back to him???

When she lets herself think about what is really holding her back, she is honest and admits she never got over her feelings for Kellin Patel, Mason's brother and Hope's brother-in-law. (these characters have been in all the previous books) She makes plans to spend the summer at their place, she just hates leaving her best friend Sadie, who is a real pistol and has no filter when it comes to speaking her mind!

A few years earlier at Hope and Mason's wedding, Kellin just about destroyed her heart. She was thinking that they would finally be getting together and become more than friends. They have been in and out of each other's lives for a long time, but have never crossed that invisible line. Kellin misunderstood something and set out to hurt Misty by sucking face at the wedding with another girl. Misty saw them, felt her heart crack, sucked it up for the wedding and never saw him again.

Meanwhile, Kellin's girlfriend, Kelly, has just broken up with him. She was cheating on him with her ex. They had been getting ready to take a vacation that Kellin has been planning for years; camping from state to state, with no thought but hiking, fishing and swimming. He and his roommate Roh were going with her and one of her friends. No way can he afford to go now. So his heart is hurting and he is out the trip he looked forward to going on. When he meets up with Misty at his brother's, he is shocked to see her. When she hears about his predicament, she offers to go, along with Sadie. Not sure who is more surprised, Kellin, or Misty that she offered.

The four of them set out and it's awkward and tense. Their past is always with them. Kellin admitted to himself a long time ago that he made a big, immature mistake with Misty that he didn't know how to fix. He has had a series of relationships that have failed since then.. It's only through games of Truth or Dare that the past is discussed and their old feelings come to the surface.

But as wonderful as it seems things are going, these two have relationships that are still very much present. When Luke comes to her and tells her he doesn't think this idea of his can work without slowly killing him, Misty is forced to look at both men in her life. When Kellin's ex comes back with some interesting news, everyone's life is rocked.

This is a great addition to the Sometimes Never Series. There were some angsty moments, and I honestly am not sure that I could be as understanding as Misty was about Kellin's situation. But fictional characters have more tolerance than I do!

They are both good people, and deserved to find their long awaited  HEA's.

"I lost you once when we were kids," I utter. "I lost you again at the wedding. I didn't want to get my hopes up just to lose you again."
