Release Blitz: Hard to Lose by K. Bromberg

Hard to Lose by K. Bromberg is now live!

New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, brings you a romance about love, forgiveness, and living every day to the fullest.

I know finding and signing a military vet to the agency is a long shot--but it'll be good press just letting him try out. That's what I tell my family, rather than admit I can't get the letter he wrote us five years ago out of my head.

But what I tell the bartender in his hometown is a lie. I know veterans protect each other. So I pretend to be a graduate student.

Sparks. Flame. Fire. I accidentally got in too deep.

I didn't expect to develop feelings for Gunner Camden.

And there's no way I can admit to my lies now, not without destroying what we share. So I'll keep faking it.

***

There are two versions of me: before, and after deployment.

Back then I was a screwup kid. I'd lie, cheat, and steal my way out of everything. My only love was baseball.

After I started fighting, I found out there had been another path for me. One that involved my dream. But by then I had seen too much.

The old me was dead, so I put my dreams to rest, too.

Then Chase Kinkade walks into my bar and reminds me that life is meant to live. No regrets.

Fresh. Happy. Hopeful. I can start to see a new dream, with her.

But sometimes things are too good to be true... and dishonesty is the one thing I can't forgive.

Review by Jen Skewes

Hard to Lose is by far my favorite book of this series.  I want to say the K. Bromberg saved the best for last, but this is not the end like I thought it would be.  I loved Chase and Gunner and their story gave me all the feels.

Chase is the youngest Kincade sister and I think the one who has had the hardest time dealing with the loss of her mother.  She tends to run from feelings, never being around on the anniversary of her death and hiding her feelings.  All of her sisters have found love and are happy.  She wants to do something that will made a difference, a challenge of sorts.  While her sisters advise her that she needs to go out on dates, she wants to hear none of it.  Instead, she wants to find the soldier who was once a great baseball player.  The one whose letter she just received that implied he had given up on his dreams.  She has no idea where to start, other than to go to the small town he now lives in and gradually make friends and quietly ask around about him.  She meets Gunner at a bar on her first day in town and the chemistry is instant.  But it is more than that.  They have this connection and ease with each other.  She did not come here for love or to meet someone, but Gunner is someone that she cannot get off her mind.

Gunner has had a rough past since his Father died.  After having no choice but to give up his dream of playing baseball he joins the service. He is back from deployment and just trying to live each day, fighting the nightmares and the demons from his past.  He was lucky enough to make it home but some of his friends weren’t and he holds himself responsible.  When he meets Chase she completely takes him by surprise.  More so because of the feelings that she stirs up in him.  Falling for someone is not on his list of things to do, but he may just need to add that to it and check it off.

Chase is falling for Gunner.  But she is hiding something from him. When he finds out will he send her packing or will he be able to forgive her.

K. Bromberg knows how to bring out the emotions.  This book made me feel so much.  There were times when I would literally feel a pitter patter in my heart at the words Gunner spoke.  He truly was the perfect package.  He has his demons, but he is the sweetest, kindest, selfless and  sexiest man who made me swoon and melted my heart.  I truly hurt for him and everything he went through.

Chase was a beautiful heroine who was smart, funny and kind.  I loved her relationship with Gunner.  They flirted, bantered back and forth and yet also had emotional moments when they opened up to each other.  It was truly beautiful to watch these two fall in love.  I cannot even put it into words what this book made me feel.  My God the emotions: love, happiness, laughter, sadness, heartbreak and just pure joy.  Their story ad their pasts were not easy ones.  I think Chase was in a way trying to find herself and in the meantime found a way to finally open up to someone.  While Gunner was fighting the demons of his past, both in the service and from home.  The way they felt so at ease, safe and comfortable with each other was everything.  I can go on and on when it comes to these two.  It was just that good!!!!  I was sad to see it end but was left with a hangover for days.

This series is not over.  There is one more person who will be getting their story.  But that is for you to find out at the end of this book.  I’m hoping for some sort of spin off though, because I would l love for Nix to get a story as well.
