Review and Giveaway: A Simple Touch by Natasha Wilson

Synopsis

Jordan Thomas doesn't have the time or the physical capability to even contemplate being in a relationship. Her past has altered her present so much that she has no choice but to perfect her shields and harden her heart. No man has come close to breaking through those shields in two years.

Until Blake.

Blake Barnes is exactly what Jordan is trying to stay away from but he refuses to let her attitude and proneness for disasters stop him from what he wants...to make her his. Little by little, Jordan's will crumbles under Blake's relentless pursuit. All she has to do is find the courage to stay...

Can she give him what he wants? Can he be what she needs?

4.5 star review by Guest Reviewer Alison East

I really loved this story- the characters made this story an instant success. Jordana's past has left her very
vulnerable to the touch of men. A simple touch can set her off in a panic attack. And then she sees the handsome stranger. Which can be misconstrued as the typical romance story, but it turns into so much more.

Jordan works at a restaurant, a battered woman's shelter and she also is finishing school. It is at the restaurant that she meets Blake "You're delusional if you think for one second that I'm interested in you. You are so off my radar it isn't funny," I lie but hopefully he buys it. Blake laughs, so there goes that hope.
"You're feisty, and luckily I happen to like your brand of bitchiness."

Blake is anything and everything I could ask for or want in a book boyfriend. He makes Jordan feel comfortable. He realizes instantly something happened to her in the past, and tried his hardest to make her feel comfortable. He is also very alpha without being so pushy on Jordan.

"You are beautiful all the time, but when you look truly happy you make my chest hurt you're so damn magnificent."  I mean serious swooning and weak knees over here! And I just love Jordan's best friend Dacey.  She is funny and witty, and supports Jordan when she needs it the most. "I knew it,hooker! You so got it bad.  You're gonna fall in luuurve and get married and make boom-boom all the time"

And the sex scenes, once Jordan gets past her little touch issue with Blake, are really freaking panty melting! And he calls her Sugar, which I am a sucker for. "Sugar, I don't want to make a habit of
getting all worked up and ready to take your clothes off in front of an audience, that I prefer to take place somewhere more appropriate to making you moan my name."

Even Blake's parents are amazing characters. They are funny and witty and a down right hoot. After you meet them the first time they are introduced as Jenny and Mitchell, not Blake's parents- which was a great touch. They loved Jordan immediately which was a plus for her, considering she was worried they would judge her because they come from money. Thank god there was no cliffhanger! It also didn't have much angst, which can I say is a breath of fresh air. There is always some skank trying to break things up,or
situations that are not so pleasant in stories like this. I was so happy there were not many instances of this in this great story. Natasha is a great author and I will read anything she puts out. I am so happy she is writing
Dacey's story right now and it's on GoodReads- A Simple Man, and it comes out in August -

  1. I really like the sound of this story from the excerpt I read. I'm a sucker for wounded guys and gals finding and redeeming each other. I love second-chance romances too. So this is one I'm definitely interested in. jdh2690@gmail.com
